So yea, my baby is gone! I was driving on a road and all of a sudden an older man pulled out right in front of me in his 88 olds stationwagon woody! I was going too fast to slow down (I didn't think he was going to go in front of me, he had a stop sign) and I t-boned him on his driver door.... everyone was okay, luckliy, but both our cars were totalled. : (

This is my first accident ever, does anyone know how this is going to work? I have a lot of aftermarket parts and stuff that I want to strip from the vehicle and replace with the OEM stock parts and then eventually get a z28 or a cheap v6 and supercharge it with the money I receive. Can anyone help me out and tell me how much money you think i'd get from his insurance company after I stripped the parts from the vehicle? its a 1996 chevy camaro, y87 package, 5 spd, 105k miles, t-tops, v6 3.8L. thanks!

You'd probably have to buy the car back from the insurance company to be able to strip it, unless you find a way to get to your car w/o anyone noticing.

when i totaled my car we had it sent to a body shop that my friend owns and we were able to take **** off the car. And dont let the insurance **** u over i bought a 2000 camaro v6 convertible black with leather for 8000 and i got insurance to give me 12000 cause thats wat the car was worth

I will be stripping the parts and replacing them with the stock OEM parts tomorrow morning before the insurance company gets a chance to take pictures of the vehicle. I will also take some pictures tomorrow of the crash to show you the damage.....

Homedog, the wheels are just OEM 5 spokes... but to me they are an upgrade from the original saladshooters.... my current plan is to buy a Z28 and put the intake, wheels/tires, and CD player in the new vehicle. I also want to sell the V6 3.8L 5spd 97+ PCM that was just calibrated about 2 months ago by PCMforLess.com..... its also tuned for 4.10 gear ratio, stiffer shifting points, and also set to run the car cooler. Im going to put the original one back in it and just leave the 4.10 gears in it.

Hopefully I will at least get kbb for it which is $3845 and just cut my losses with the tint, 4.10 gears, and magnaflow exhaust.

does anyone know if I show them the recent receipt of 9/27/06 for my magnaflow exhaust that I will get compensated for the 397.99? let me know, because im not going to saw it off or the insurance company will know I stripped it. Thanks!

can u show me a pic of the wheels i might do a trade i have 7 (4 are on my car right now)of the 2000 v6/z28 wheels if you would want them depending what yours look like.

sorry homedog, but i am keeping the wheels and tires because I just purchased them about 2 months ago and I am going to put them on my new camaro when I get the damn money from the other guys insurance compnay.

since those pics.... ive stripped a lot of pieces off of it - but I left the magnaflow exhaust on cuz its only about a month old and insurance may cover it if i show them the receipt.... otherwise im cutting it off and putting it on my new camaro.
