  • Thank you everyone that prayed/wished the best for me and goodbye.

    Hello all,
I have survived and will make a full recovery from the car wreck this January. For the first 5 days of my coma, the doctors said I would die no matter what, and for the next few weeks they said I might die. Then once they determined I would live, they said I'd be a vegetable, then never talk or walk again, then never run again..

As you can see, they were fully wrong. I have enough run 6 miles without walking at all during it just to prove to myself that I am back. I still have some recovery left, but I'll be better than I was before. I'm much nicer now, and have a much better mindset for life.

I don't know if I can speak about this on this board or not, but now the Man from above has saved my life twice. Moderators, if this is not allowed, please delete it but leave the rest of the post. I want to thank everyone that thought of me during my accident and give them an update.

The first time I was saved, I fell down 20 concrete stairs when I was 4 on a tricycle, 3 angels caught me and set me on the bottom stair, no nick, no scratch, no cut, and no bruise.

This time, right after the coma, I saw a spiritual vision of Jesus in my mind, he had his arms outstretched to me and told me I'll be just fine, so I will.

And now the final part. I no longer have any interest in modifying cars or having a fast car because it almost killed me, so I must say goodbye to the car community.

If you would like to talk to me, feel free to e-mail me at korben_14@yahoo.com.

I'm almost done in the writing of my book I wrote because of my two experiences and what I have learned about them. If you would be interested to know when it is out/the title, send me an e-mail.

Hope everyone is doing well, I wish you all the best,
    David

Why do you say that? Because of my two experiences?

I know that. It doesn't change the fact they're wrong. And they never had to say I would be a vegetable, never talk, never talk, or never run. They could have simply said they had no idea how much I would recover....It conveys the exact same point.

good to hear you're doin better man. I know what you mean. i've experianced far too many things in my short life to not believe there is definately someone out there looking out for us. Apparently according to both my parents i used to talk to the walls when i was a kid, and then one day i described the person i was talking to exactly like the risen Christ... thorns and all. I was 3 years old and had been taught nothing about christianity. Too bad i cant remember what i was told and didnt tell my parents... i pray every day that i'll be able to see Him again.
I wouldn't give up on modifying cars just because of an accident tho. Theres so much more to it than just going fast. Its the people you meet, the things you learn, the experiances, the bonding between you and the work you do... like i said in another thread just yesterday: You will be fine if you just treat a car (or motorcycle) with the same care and respect as you would a gun, knife or any other piece of heavy machinery. I dont recall the circumstances of your accident, but If you race, do it on a strip where there are trained medical crews there and you have proper safety equipment. People die from everything but we have enough technology today that if you take full advantage of the safety equipment (both the stuff you wear and the inherent safety of a track... i.e. no oncoming traffic) and a healthy dose of common sense you should be fine. I understand that you're shell shocked but dont give up what you love to do... just have more respect for it now, thats all.
