        Soda.... wierd
Coke... it is a FORM of pop
what I say when I think of the carbonated stuff that tastes good and gives you pimples? Pop

The best form of pop - Dr. Pepper (which also happens to be the oldest, yes, even older then Coke)

              Re: Soft Drinks

All the people i know call it POP, which is the only term i can handle for it

Soda is too formal, im not that proper

Coke is way too confusing when you want something besides Coke to me

But anyways, I was in Hawaii a couple years ago and I asked the waitress what kind of "pop" they had and she replies, "Regular and Decafe". So I just got a water to make it simple on everyone

I might be wrong but arent "Milkshakes" called "Cabnits" in Massachuettes?

Just depends on the area for everything

                Re: Soft Drinks

Hate to say it, but here in West Texas we call it a "coke". When a waitress asks you what kind of drink you want here, lets say you say a a "coke", then they say what kind? Meaning any other kind of soda drink, Dr. Pepper, Pepsi, ect.

                  Re: Soft Drinks

when i was in Nebraska they called it pop, out here in the west we call it soda

some Nebraskans also called lunch, dinner!

yep they had breakfast, dinner, supper

we have breakfast, LUNCH, dinner. i have heard of dinner being called supper, but i have never heard of lunch being called dinner

i normally call all soda "coke"
it's kinda like "bandaid" or "kleenex"

                    Re: Soft Drinks

I grew up saying pop in SE Ohio but when I joined the militart and was in Va for over 4 years I started saying soda, now its usually soda, sometimes pop. But never have I or will I ask for a Coke when I mean Dr. Pepper. That happened to me in Tx and I just stared at the waitress and said no I want a Coke

I'm kind wondering why noone has said Cola yet. Like Coca Cola or Pepsi Cola or a Litre of Cola.
