(dont ask why i just enjoy doing it for some reason other than the fact i make pretty good money) so it might not look bad from where youre sitting but its alot larger problem for me since it not only means i cant smoke anywhere but my wallet is going to suffer.

      see what im getting at?
So, let me get this right. You liked the local ban on smoking because it chased people out of their normal bars and into the one where you work since it wasn't effected by the ban. But now that the ban covers the entire state, its a horrible thing because its taking away from the business that was caused by the local ban. Seems kind of hypocritical to me.

The bars ARE public so theres no reason the ban shouldn't apply to them. There are many more reasons for wanting to go to a bar other than to smoke.

I really don't care, as I smoke outside anyway.

as far as the law goes, well, it's another jab at ones "personal liberties & freedom". where's the crowd that usually bytches about that????

"smoking, along w/inhaling the exhaust from internal combustion engines, and getting run over by vehicles w/said engines" will soon be deemed unhealthy to all and be banned nationwide. and it'll be bush's fault.

Your freedoms only go as far as others' starts. When you smoke you are infringing upon the freedoms of the people around you by making them involuntarily inhale harmful chemicals.

did i say i was happy other places lost money? no i did not. i was against the local ban 100%. we just happened to luck out and be just outside of the city limits of where the ban is enforced. i dont like to see any business lose money to bogus laws that screw people.

then everytime you start your car, your infringing on someone elses freedom, making them involuntarily inhale harmful chemicals.

Well in your post you were complaining that you lost that extra business that was caused by the local ban.

And I hardly see how its fair that the majority of people (the ones that don't smoke) should have to move out of a building because you want to. It would be different if it were just something that was annoying and smelled bad. Its something thats annoying, smells bad, AND is harmful to not only the smokers health, but the the health of those around the smoker.

And to 3.4 slow to go: Well, just pull your car inside a public building and leave it running for a while and see how many people get pissed. Its the same concept. Outside it doesnt affect anyone directly. And beside there is a reason that there are laws restricting certain parts of the exhaust.

Bad comparison. The SUN also just happens to be the reason life can exist on Earth. Smoking on the other hand offers no such benefits.

well there are plenty of places that offer a non smoking enviroment that you could have went to and yet you STILL KNOWINGLY went to a bar/establishment that permits smoking? whos fault is that? mine for knowing i can smoke there or yours for going there even though you knew smoking was permitted even though it bothers you?
