it is rediculous. i(nor any smoker) dont sit on your table while you eat and blow smoke directly into your face as shirl put it in fart terms . those who would do something like that are d1cks and very few and far between.

i mind my own business and try my best to keep the smoke away from others by sitting in the smoking section. i shouldnt have to cater to you non smokers anymore than you should to me. but its not my fault that you choose to go somewhere and eat that permits it is it?

what i dont get is why its okay for non smokers to make a big issue over it and its fine, but we bring up our rights and we are the bad guys because non smokers say we are and that we have absolutely no rights. as for the harzardous health thing.. dont drive anymore then. youre killing yourself and the rest of us AND the earth. we are all bad people unless you dont drive. :p

btw fbird01 if your farts smell that bad thats just funny

The driving thing is again another bad comparison. Lets see, without transportation it would be completely impossible to function in western civilization. Driving is dangerous yes, but its necessary for life as we know it. Smoking is not even sort of necessary. It has no positive effects. It has numerous negative effects.

And you don't have rights as a smoker because you are harming other people. Thats all it boils down to. You can smoke in your house or outside where its not harming others. There is a reason the law is what it is.

I'm going to have to say it seems you all are simply ignoring the obvious truth. It DOES harm other people and other people do think its annoying. You cannot justify harming other people by saying that other things necessary in life (such as driving, or even the SUN) can be harmful too.

And because you "****ing want to" isn't even a sort of ok reason to smoke. It ****ing harms other people. That makes it not alright to do it just because you want to. Your annoying/unhealthy habbit should not effect other people. That is where it crosses the line. That is what I have been saying this whole thread.
well, ill stop smoking when you stop driving. how about that? you cross the same line everytime you start your gasonline powered automobile and help pollute the earth.

last time i checked. the world still ran just fine without automobiles for thousands of years. it is not neccessary, its a convienence for people to get from point A to point B easier.

well, stop harming me by driving your obnoxiously polluting vehicles, and I'll stop smoking. Plus, I have lost some weight since smoking. WHAT!!!!!!!!!! a positive impact!!!! but, but, but, how cain that be?

I guess you have also not heard/seen the invention of "bicycles" or of that ilk. Come to think of it, let's ban all petrolium products, as the process to manufacture/use them is bad to the whole frikken world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                      Re: **** ohio

you are right.. cars are awful.. they polute the environment. even when operated outdoors, their exhaust is harmful to everyone. so lets ban cars...

and by your own analogy, lets ban smoking outdoors as well.

but seriously, cant you see why the rest of us dont like smoking indoors, in places open to the general public? Its not like drinking (drinking next to someone will not by proximity make them drunk). It is harmful to sit near someone smoking.

If something you volutarily do, of sound mind and your own free will, can harm those around you, while you are both in a public place, then that something should not be allowed... you should not be able to force your way onto others without their consent. smoking in a location that is open to the general public forces the rest of us to inhale the same poisonous chemicals that you are, without our consent. It doesnt matter if you dont blow it in someone's face... the smoke will evenly distribute throught the surrounding area and force the rest of us to breath it anyway (unless there is an excellent HVAC system indoors, that sucks up all the air and filters it on a regular basis... one of my earlier suggestions)...

point is, if you wish to smoke in your house, in yoru car... outdoors.. where the rest of us either arent affected (outdoors) or have no right to be there without your permission (your car, house, etc).. then please, smoke til you're hearts content... jsut dont do it in a location open to the general public, where we have no choice but to breathe it in as well..

Well you all are being downright ignorant now. The only way you can even sort of put up a defense is by picking apart my vauge wording. By western civilization, I meant modern western civilization. I would have thought that obvious. There are two reasons the car exhaust thing doesn't work. Fast transportation is necessary to be a functioning member of society in America and the exhaust from cars only indirectly harms people. It is ruining the enviorment slowly, but it is not directly harming anyone because no one sets behind your car sucking on the fumes while you are driving.

Postive effects of having cars? It makes having a civilization as advanced as we have possible. Many technologies wouldn't even exist if there weren't a fast method of transportation. You all also act like we are not trying to do anything to correct the pollution cars cause. That is most definitely not the case.

Im no expert but doesnt smoking make u less hungry?

so that would be y you lose weight

But in consuming less food theres a better chance your not getting the proper vitamins and nutrients you need daily.

So yes, u lost weight, but is that necessarily good?

Dont quote me on any of that, but thats how i see it

Also my farts do smell somewhat, but not as bad as u think
