Democrats take House!!! Rumsfeld resigns!

I've been waiting a couple of years for this. Now Bush won't get whatever he wants anymore. Rumsfeld resigned because the Democrats would have held him accountable for his incompetence in running the war effort.

This is a great time for American democracy. This proves wrong anyone who thinks voting is irrelevant or can't make a difference.

I will be voting Republican for president next time around unless Bill Frist is the candidate. This government needs to check itself and the parties need to work together. The only way that can happen is if the power is more balanced.

I'm going to have to wait till I get home and watch the BCC. But from I heard so far, Rumsfeld resign because he would be a rod for criticism of the administration. Pres. Bush wanted to keep him but Rumsfeld didn't want him to be burden. It's a noble jesture on his part and I give him props for that. I have a hunch that Bolton to be the next person resign.

By the way, not everybody in the arm forces criticizes him. Most of the liberal media, Democrats, and retired generals did that. This has a lot to do with political or party affiliation.

I stayed up to 1am last night watching this election and if you look across the states, the Democrats only won by a slight margin. It wasn't a landslide by any means. Calif. to my surprise leaned more to the right, Republican. I'm not talking about Arnold, but Democrats lost some crucial position to the Republican. Positions they've held for so long and the Republicans didn't advertise at all that much like they did.

I guess people in Calif. were tired of high tax, congested FWY., illegal aliens, and the nations highest insurance rate.

The sex scandal, money corruption, and Iraq war swayed the people's vote to the left. Plus the big mistake Republicans made was to label themselves bi-partison which mean they lean towards the Democrat's side and distancing themselves from Pres. Bush. Big mistake!! That only made the Democrats look good and the liberal media fired it up.

Now Republicans say that they are going back to their roots, which is conservatism. I like to see what the Democrats can do. I like to see if they can talk the talk and walk the walk. This time I want to see the criticism go to them. This should be an interesting term. But I predict the Republican to rebound and take the house again.

Expect Barac O'Bama to run for President. He will probably beat Sen. Clinton to the ticket. Because he is the only Democrat that didn't jump on the Iraq war. I expect Sen. McCain from AZ to run for the Republican.

Heh. You actually believe Rumsfeld chose to resign???? Or that Bush meant it when he said he'd keep Rumsfeld no matter what? Listen carefully to Bush's press conference today, and you'll hear Bush admit that was a political statement and that Rumsfeld was told to go.

They couldn't fire him before the election, because it would have meant they were admitting Iraq is a screwed up mess. Their only possible position, however untenable, was that Iraq was OK. Now, Americans have spoken and they want him to be a distant memory before the next election.

The Republicans have been operating under the position that the poor and the middle class have too much money and the rich don't have enough. Limbaugh has said that...The "death tax" they want repealed only covers the upper one percent of income earners. the investor class now only pay 15% on their profits gambling in the stock market or real estate. the poorest of the poor pay 10% on their income. The Republicans have looked the other way as company after company moved good middle class jobs in manufacturing and technology to China, Korea, Hong Kong, India and Central America plus Mexico.
They lower their costs, make big profits then they get big bonuses from the Board of Directors. Go into Best Buy or
Circuit City...all imported products...go to Walmart...other than food and some drugs...all imported products.
How many of you have new money in your product because the stock market is high......? Lots of companies stock price is up b/c profits are up do to moving production to China....GE, Ford, GM, HP, Dell, Apple, name it.

I also think it wasn't a land slid. just like mentioned, almost all were really close and a lot of the Dem elected are young and a heck of a lot more Conservative Dem's. even the now liberal majority head is talking about how changes will be basically Conservative and it won't be a liberal stampede all over the republican government.
