So the question is if you had the money and you intended on keeping your current F-body would you rather put in a built V6 or a built LS1? I would like to start trying to make one of these a reality next year and am curious to know what others would do. Also, what power adder would you put on the engine V6 or LS1?

Re: If you had the money...
LT1s just feel so dated.
im currently debating if i should finish the 3400 top end swap or just sell all the parts ive accumulated and swap in an lt1.95 bright red camaro 3.4l

Re: If you had the money...
It would be a really tough choice, but in the end, I'd probably just by an LS1 car cuz I love the way they sound with mid length headers and Corsa exhaust.
But at the same time, I still have ambitions to build my v6 to be a low 11 sec car after college. Problem would be time though. I'll be in the military so I wont be at any one base for more than 3-4 years so establishing a garage AND finding time with my future family would be tough cuz a v6 build takes time/patience. An LS1 is just a weekend project and your in the 11's. :naughty:
Buuuuut, I could take a week's leave a couple of times and do the sixxer....hell I dont know what I'd do!!! Why did you have to ask this stupid question, I am stuck in between the two!! Lol, rofl.Last edited by Shodown; 11-13-2006, 11:47 PM.sigpic

Re: If you had the money...
if you had the money why bother with a v6, IMO, or bother swapping an LS1 when you can afford to buy and LS1 and build that, so much easier and cheaper

Re: If you had the money...
You should have included LS2 cars also
Im finishing up school this semester and the first thing i plan on doing after i get a decent job is buying and 05 GTO
I would love to buy a 01-02 T/A, but in 2007 the car is already 5-6 years old....
For the price of a low milage fbody i can get a equal or lower milage goat probably for the same price
In my area 02 ta's with 20k on the clock go for around 22-23K. I can buy an 04 GTO with 5k on it for that much....
So I stick with LS2 on this one

Re: If you had the money...
Yeah, but with a GTO, you buy the extra 9689754lbs it ways too. Thats a heavy a$$ car, I'd still rather have an fbody for the same amount of money, IMO.sigpic

funny because every single technician I work with 100% agree that the cars are getting nicer, better quality and lasting too damn long.

Re: If you had the money...
Me... i'd keep my V6, and use this (imaginary?) money to buy a Toyota Prius. Now i know what you'll say, but stick with me cuz my story gets better.
First thing i'd do with it is hit some beaner car in a parking lot.
Then i'd drive on the freeway for 1 hour at 45mph.
Then i'd pull into a gas station and berate the customers there for killing our enviorment.
Next, i'd cruise some residential areas to see how many unsuspecting pedestians i could run down.
After that i'd have lunch.
When i was done with lunch i'd take the Prius out to the ocean and "give" it back to nature.... or maybe load it with high explosives and drop it on a caravan... yea...
I hate those things... i'm sure Prius is French (or something foreign) for anti-christ.

On the subject I wouldn't do neither. Years ago when I go in an accident with my 78 camaro I thought I should just buy a new car to get the power. I went to my dads dealership and bought a 99 Firehawk for $26K, since I got a discount thankfully. Had it for 3 months then decided to sell it for $30k. I bought a wrecked 79 El Camino SS for $150 and bought the new ZZ572 ci for $14k. I spent another 5k for full interior, paint, and all the other odds and ends and have one bad a** ride. Best thing I ever did and now had 700hp just need to finish it once I get stationed closer to home from being overseas. Here is a pic of her before and now.
By the way what base you at Shodown?
