I got mine in the summer of '03.
It's a 1997 Firebird, 3800 II V6 manual 5-speed
It had 49k miles on it and all that was wrong with it when I bought it was a coil was bad.
I purchased it for $7500 from a dealer. I still think I got ripped off big time though, because he said he was going to cut me a deal because I was paying cash for the car and was also buying my wife a '97 Chrysler LHS. He sold them both to me for the sticker prices that were on them, no cutting a deal was involved. :(

I bought mine April 2001. I paid 8000 for it.

Before I signed papers I had them replace the clutch. It had 70k ish. Don't remember. Had a high flow cat and vortex "performance" muffler. Both of which are gone now. The previous owner had a stereo and pulled it so I had to put a system in it but that was the plan anyways so I was cool with that. I had to put a second motor at 115k ish. The car now has 144,500miles on it

O yea and this past summer I gutted the entire car and found a wallet under the passengerside seat that had like 70 bucks in it. :banana: It was actually under the wires that hold the foam in. I just started laughing.

I paid $1 for it.

Did you buy another car to get this "deal"

Just curious, but I've been reading through everyones purchases and I must ask.......Why buy a car with so many miles already on it? It's like setting yourself up for disappointment. Granted, for the prices you all have gotten them for, I guess you really aren't disappointed because a little work and they will run like new.

Who would want to put that many miles on an F-body in that quick of time is beyond me either. They obviously didn't love their cars, but abused them by trying to stunt everywhere with them. :P

Be nice to your cars, drive 'em slow unless needed other speeds and don't drive them everywhere all the time. Don't be afraid to ride with someone else when going somewhere, it won't kill you. :)
