Volvo + 350 chevy

Since i finally made the decision that my car would take alot more money to go fast than a v8, i want a new drag project and i found this...http://hookedonclassics.com/cars/pre..._Chev_350.html :banana:

I can get it for about a grand cuz i know the guy personally. Anyone have an idea on what type of ETs this thing can get right now? I am going to heavily modify it later...

350's are just great platforms to build off, and i just think it would be funny to see a Volvo that can kick some a$$!

Hmm i dunno.. i'd bet you'd probably need at least 1000hp to break 13 seconds in that thing... i mean look at the aerodynamics!! Its a freakin brick!

On the other hand it would be pretty weird to see a volvo ripping down the drag strip faster than some LS1s :banana:

I just talked to the guy, he said it did a 14.2 without the shift kit, plus id strip all interior, and acc.

one of my teachers at tech school had an older Volvo (late 80's), and there was a TON of room in the engine bay. I could've stepped into the engine bay and not touched the engine at all.

I say go for it. Weird hybrids like that are always cool.

AWESOME. my friend has an 83 Turbo volvo, thing hauls ***, he's done alot to it, personally i love volvo's (240's)

you pretty much own one of my dream cars. im hoping in future years to buy a 242 and drop in a smallblock.

your gonna get alot of looks, the sound coming from the tailpipes wont match the car at all, its an awesome feeling.

strangely i owned a volvo just like that one, and i came pretty close to swapping a carbed 350 in there when the engine started to go... hey it seemed like a good idea at the time, ended up donating it to the blind (no joke)
