Yes, but bitter none the less. I think that there would be better performance from a service member who came in knowing they were getting screwed, instead of getting screwed while they were in and becoming bitter.
That is the point I am trying to get across :)

It all comes down to leadership, and with the right motivation I think draftees would do fine, for the most part.
This is not Vietnam or WWIII. Like the Democrats like to portray it. US soldiers are not dying by the hundreds a day or thousands like in Vietnam and WWI and II.
There's no need for the draft like the Demo. said. We have more than enough reserve and volunteers. I agree with Sen. McCain and Pres. Bush.
But... if the Demo. ever reinstate this, and I got called, I will definately go.
i just had to write a 20 page paper on the need for a US military draft... cant physically write about it any more. haha.
here is the bill, if anyone is interested. it deals a lot with non-military mandatory service, but i was able to sort of pick it apart and find that its just a reworded draft.

2006 S60- Sold

Im an only son, and enrolled in college, ive got nothing to worry about ;)
Well, thanks for showing your patriotism. Go oversea's and tell all the soldiers there why you don't have to worry, I'm sure they will laugh just as well.
I've been run over by a forklift, so my leg is shot to hell, I am an only child, and if they wanted me to go shoot a gun at an enemy, I'm in.

Wow, Okay. I'm really glad you've had a peachy time in your military service, and thank you for serving, but my point was that not everyone in the military is happy to be there.
This thread isn't about you and me, and this isn't going to turn into a pissing contest, so keep it on topic.

Why do we still talk about this every year? Someone brings up a new bill for the draft every single year just to be quickly shot down but yet, we still talk about it...Why?

K, first...
the soldiers that are overseas, signed themselves up.
and if you want to go shoot a gun at the enemy, then do it.. and don't wait for the draft if you feel so strong about it.
and for those of us who dont care to go over there to sand land, leave it be.
