It was pretty cool to drive one of those things. Didn't bang through the gears or anything, but still cool. My dad took over driving and then the fun began. Let me tell you, not amount of mods can make up for that power difference (except FI) and the sound is unbeatable. However, we were disgusted by the condition of the car. A lot of scratches, which seemed like they could be buffed out. But there were a lot of nicks in the hood and spoiler that no amount of buffing could fix. But what really made this interesting, is that when we opened the trunk we found a 2inch deep puddle of water in the t-top holder! The t-top covers were drenched. It most leak! The dealer didn't even know. We went in and told them and they said they didn't even really look over the car and they've had for about 4 months. This dealer gets cars that have R titles or theft recovery. They really were unclear about the history of this car, though. Mechanically it drove well, but the tranny is a little screwed up. It grinds into first when downshifting. The kicker is that they want 16K for it. Its got 44K miles though. We were interested, but now we are not so sure. The only reason we want to get it from this dealer is because they are going to give us a good trade in on my R title car. Should we talk them down, and how much lower should we try and go? What do you guys think about this?

PS-It missing the tranction control switch, but I imagine that is an inexpensive fix. They said they would fix the problems before sale, but I'm still weary.

Yea, thats what I was thinking too. They said they'd give us $5000 on trade in. I really wouldn't think paying over 14K for that car would be right ecspecially if it has an R title. They weren't clear about that...

Take it from me.. wait and find another one. You don't want to mess with something that has problems..if your going to spend 17k on a car, it better be MINT.

sounds like a bad deal. $8k with the trade in sounds good, but any higher than that and you have got to be high.

That thing sounds like bad news - don't pay a penny over $2K for it.

It wasn't all bad, just showed a little more wear than its years. Motor was STRONG! Made my V6 feel like a golfcart. However, the water in the trunk concerns me. We're probably going to offer 12-13K and then the 5K trade in. Probably going to pay 7K for it.

In all seriousness, You probably have some work cut out for you - it sounds like it has been very badly abused. Nevertheless, I am jealous!
