I got an 81 Volvo 240 for a 100 bucks when my clutch went out in the bird and I was leaving for a deployment in a month. Got about 2 months driving out of it and rear brake locked up and I gave it away.
Then I got a 92 cavalier for 600 bucks when I started at G.E. in KY cause the bird was in VA for warranty work on intake gasket. Lasted about a month and half and I lost Drive in it. I had to drive 55miles on interstate in 2nd gear. It had no RPM gauge so I'm sure it was perfectly OK. I sold it for 300 bucks.
I got a 1994 Yota Canary Coupe LE...164,000 miles...2.2 L w/ 4spd Auto...cut a hole in the air box and took off silencer...took off all exhaust resonators...spray painted black...sunroof...nothing works...got it for dirt cheap
BUY GM!!! Trust me, I don't know why everyone thinks toyotas last so long, this one is falling apart, so many unknown suspension noises, nothing works...I NEVER LIKED TOYOTA AND NEVER WILL
1990 Dodge Caravan, until last Friday evning. I threw a rod through the tranny. I dont think its worth me fixing (bought it for $200) so I think Im going to sell it to the junkyard and try to at least get my $200 out of it.
