I wan't this thread to be detailed, a good thread ya know?

Where have you been on vacation? Out of these places, which is your favorite? For your favorite, why was it your choice?

I've been to Destin, Hilton Head SC, Chicago, and San Fransico.

Out of all of those, its close between Chicago and San Fran. But San Fran was my favorite, mainly because i was older when i went there so i actually got to experience it.

For one, the scenary cannot be beat. Standing on top of a street that has a steeper incline than this ----> \ and watching the fog roll in over the bay was incredible. There are so many different people there too, its almost overwhelming. The Redwood forest was outstanding, those trees are HUGE

I have gone to Disney World for a day
I have gone camping all over Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico
Spent 9 days in Ft Walton Beach, Florida on the beach
Been to Dallas/Ft Worth but thats boring

I have to say that Disney world is by far my favorite because it was recent and even though i only had one day, it was amazing to see everything again like being a kid.

I must say my cruise to Mexico is second to none. If you ever consider going on an expensive vacation, cruises are teh hawtness.

But my trips to Florida are always so f'ing awesome, I just love FL. I love the weather, scenery, beaches, sweet cars and the girls are so hot down there :naughty: JK, but seriously they are.

My fiancee won a free 5 day cruise last year at a bridal show, so we might be using that for spring break this year :rock: We are also in the process of booking our honeymoon to Jamaica in June. :excited: If we dont go on the cruise during spring break, we may use it for the honeymoon, but she REALLLLLY wants to go to one of those Sandals resorts.

i've been to every beach imaginable, but the favorite for beach and water wise was Panama City or Destin, and then best for having a good time lol was fort lauderdale.

Another fun place is salt lake city, utah... you can be skiing on a mountain and head 20 miles down the mountain and go swimming... the temp changes so much and the scenery is awsome.

VA Beach
About 3 different beaches in NC
About 5 different beaches in SC
Georgia
About 7 different beaches in FL (east coast and gulf)
Pigeon Forge, TN a few times
Dayton, OH (distant family there, no other reason)
Lake Sherwood, White Sulphur Springs, WV
Antigua and Barbuda, West Indies, just last week (got to stop in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Tortolla too)
Couple other places too I'm sure.

By far the best place I've been is the Gulf Coast of Florida for convenience, price, and distance from home. But the nicest was Antigua and Barbuda. Me and my wife went there on our honeymoon all last week. We stayed at the Sandals Resort there about 15 minutes from St. Johns. Nice and warm, no humidity (how?), nice breezes blowing, all inclusive, we didn't even leave the resort grounds. The only complaint I had was the water temperature was way cooler than I expected. The travel agent misinformed me, the water felt like it was about 65-70 degrees in the warm spots. Great sunsets, too bad we didn't get to see any sunrises though. We have some awesome pics if anybody is interested, but I'm not gonna upload anything unless somebody asks.

Hershey, PA - CHOCOHOLIC! It is heaven there

Oh gosh, I've been to a lot of places when I was younger and before getting married. Pretty much all over Europe, parts in Asia, Central America. The only place I haven't been to is Australia, Africa, South America and Middle East. Wait, scratch Middle East.

My wife and I are going to Washington DC in Jan. 17-25. Then to Oregon sometime in June (work related but will turn it into a vacation)and then big trip to Southeast Asia Jan. 2008 because my parent are retiring in the Philippines.

My parents can't afford to retire here in America. They're going to be dirt poor who can't afford medicine. My dad plans on opening an American Car Parts Store. He pretty much have everything in the works now. We're just going to help them move.

Let's see here, vacations...

All 67 counties in FL. All major and minor FL cities and all FL towns of any notable size. A huge number of small FL towns.
I used to work at Disney, so the visits there are well into the thousands.

Atlanta, northern Georgia and Savannah

All over western NC and eastern TN

Washington, DC, northern Virginia, and the tidewater area (Jamestown, Yorktown, Williamsburg, etc), parts of MD near the beltway

NYC, Boston, western MA, parts of CT

VT, NH and ME, especially Bar Harbor

St. Louis, Jefferson City and the Ozarks, MO

Southern IL, Chicago and Milwaukee, WI

Tucson, Phoenix, southeastern AZ and Sedona, AZ

Los Angeles (and of course, Disneyland), Santa Barbara, and San Francisco

Travelled through / worked in lots of other areas in the USA, but did not spend much time in those areas on vacation.

San Juan, PR

St. Thomas and St. John, USVI

Cozumel, Cancun and parts of interior Mexico

Grand Cayman

Various Bahamas locations, including Castaway Cay (Disney's island)

I've been to some countries in Europe and mid-East but that was on business.

That's not true. In general they appreciate all we've done for them, and our culture. They don't care much for our present government, tho.

They are somewhat introverted, which can be mistaken for aloof. They don't smile unless they have a good reason, and they're not going to slap you on the back. But the ones we approached for one reason or another were quite helpful. It no doubt helped that we greeted them in their language and made some attempt to speak it. Mostly they switched to English.

The best car part of that trip to France and Italy was the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. The race was a Schumacher yawner, but the whole thing was a festival. After the race I joined the Italian fans in rushing down to the track. After the podium ceremony I walked halfway around, including going under the old banking. Places I'd dreamed about all my life.

Chile was neat, too. Drivers were fast but courteous. The left lane was used for passing only, and if you were passing on a two lane road the guys coming toward you slowed down to help you out.

I strongly recommend everyone try a visit to a foreign country some time. Don't stay at a chain hotel, and try to speak at least a little of the language.
