But isn't that more work though?

I know Haynes recommends doing it that way. But a lot of guys say it's easier to drop the engine from the bottom.

Anyway, good job. Good luck on the engine. We desparately need a 10 sec. V6 F-body.

I have the stripes, aka, skirt.

my girl prefers skirt off as do, much easier to get the job done.

I took a look at the pistons, very carbonized. Has the motor ever been Seafoamed? Number 6 seems badly beaten or is it my eyes that are deceiving me? Just curious...

you must have missed the big long story on this... he broke an exhaust valve and thats what happens to diamond coated pistons when a loose piece of metal gets bounced around in the combustion chamber. he was running lean which was probably why the motor is so nasty lookin...

Don't say stuff like that you are going to make me bring a 4.3L down to TPIS and have them build it. Spend all the money I have saved for the Z28 I want... But I'll bet they could get mr a 10 second v6... Just wouldn't have a factory motor...

dude, there is alot of people racing to break 10s (which viper basically already did)
but, doubt a stock 4.3L N/A wont be a 10 sec car IMHO

No no no no.... not a stock 4.3.... And TPIS is one hell of a GM car builder, they build a lot of race cars, and currently the champion drivers corvette also.

They are the guys that managed almost 550bhp out of a TPI 350...

I would be thinking Twin turbo 4.3, should be possible to push 700-800..
Being the motor is built like a 5.7, its bullet proof which is why I even said it.

the LS1 is not even close to bulletproof
but maybe i should buy from those guys!
