just need to vent.

why would people fire a gun into the air? that is what happened 2 housed down from me. out back of our house. no more than 12 feet any from the camaro. and they fled the scene. the cops are all out back checking it out. so far they found 4 shells, but we all know that we heard more like 8. it was crazy loud. i never hear a shot before so it freaked me out. so yeah, the camaro is ok at least. all the cops had to tell me it was an alsome car!!! anyways, i just don't idiots. they have more people coming by to see what happened. they broke into the house were it happened cause when the shots were fired people ran from the house. i'll keep u posted as i know what happened

Either some whack is having fun with their new toy or it's time to arm and engage yourself with a protective weapon.

I recall from reading before you come from a family of cops? I thought you might have some sort of gun training by now. I am interested in getting my gun permit sometime in '07.

My father always brought his work home, he's a retired foreman for one of the east coasts leading gun and machine gun makers. I saw shiny guns and a heavy duty machine gun used in todays wars. It felt quite natural for me to hold a pistol but I my father told me to wait 'til I was ready to obtain a permit. That was 20 yrs ago, now I'm 38 and ready. If it wasn't for my hobby of Camaros and Firebirds, I would be immersed in practicing and unleashing all sorts of firepower. By the way I am watching Rambo Part II now lol.

Rambo: First Blood part 2? I'm watching it as well. My wife told me that I'm stupid for watching it on t.v. when I have all the d.v.d's in a set she got me for christmas last year. :P

As for the problem of the gun shots. Was it the owner's of the home that shot the gun into the air to scare away the people inside? Or was it one of the robber's to let them know to book it?

In any case, that's the safest thing to do when firing rounds at no target intended. They can ricochet off of the ground if it doesn't hit dirt that it can dig into.

Also, as for the falling shells, they were barely travelling a mile an hour as they were falling if they were fired by a handgun. Do to the loose of force when they reach their highest point, they tumble through the air back to the ground, loosing all their velocity that made them go into the air in the first place.

Most people think that getting hit with a falling shell can actually pierce the skin and kill them or what not, well that's totally bogus. It is falling at a fraction of 1 mph. Though, enough to scratch a paint job if hit at the right point and the right part of the casing.

that sucks... people are stupid theres really no reason for randomly shooting a gun ..if they were 12 feet from my birdy i would chase um down in the beater and give them something to shoot at :-p

i live in a townhouse. and all of our back yard are right next to each other. that is where the camaro is. and they found the gun bullets in the yard next to mine. but the people that shot where the people from 2 houses down.

Kristen, thats awful to hear.. people like that really should be arrested, as they are randomly endangering anyone in a mile or more radius. what goes up, must come down, and unless they shoot perfectly straight up (so the bullet stalls, then tumbles back to earth), it will come down at a velocity something similar to what it went up with... good to hear you are all alright... hopefully those *******s get arrested...
