Ok it's December now. Do you guys do the traditonal? Go with your significant other and pick out a tree, slam it on top of your car, plunk it down in a bowl of water and dress it up or go with a fake tree at a discount retailer?
I was also curious about your personal preference about the lights on your tree, blinking or steady lights, colored or plain white?
As for me: Real tree with colored lights blinking like crazy :D

We have a fake one, it's alot easier to clean up and stuff. It really gets rid of the hassle. However, I miss the smell of pine tree on Christmas morning.
We only have fake tress since we are in the military. Back home we have a 12' all white tree, but now that we are overseas we have a 6' multi colored tree.
Most Christmas trees are grown on farms, juts like any other crop - it is a renewable resource.
On the other hand there has been a bit of debate as to whether the level of pesticides absorbed into the tree (and then potentially released into your house as it slowly dies) is a health hazard.
i had a real one last year (my first tree on my own.. couldnt afford a fake one) and im still finding the damn needles one year later... unless you have someplace to put it where you can clean it up easily afterwards, id say go with fake...
