For the civilians. We can defeat militarily whoever we want. It's just that that won't fix Iraq.

Things aren't too bad for us. For the Iraqis they're h***. 100 people a day are being killed. Hundreds of thousands have fled their homes, many have fled Iraq.

The country is divided into three parts. The central government has no power to hold them together. Neither do we, no matter who or how many we kill.

Iraq will be a mess whenever we leave. So we might as well leave now. We should try to divide the country into three pieces with borders so that the Sunni and the Kurd minorities can defend their territory. Maybe we can help with that. Actually the rich Sunni Arab countries like Saudi Arabia should help the Sunnis, the Kurds need our help and have the only thing resembling a real government in Iraq.

Once again, Ironmaker, thanks for you service. Soldiers aren't supposed to question the mission and I'm glad you don't. I'll buy any soldier back from Iraq a beer. I'm hoping to have to stock up.
You're getting preachy here. Start your own thread and I'll be happy to debate you.

Yeah, thousands(!) of perfectly innocent people getting killed and forced out of their homes tends to bring that out in me.

I'll let you go first. Put Iraq in the title and I'll be there.

Pull out now and even more perfectly innocent people will die and the country fall into dismal defeat and chaos.

Like I said before, this is not fast food that we Americans are so use too. Let Iraq build up their military so they could competently take on their own battle with Terrorist and uphold their goverment. All this take time.

          Time that we have?

I'd like to see another thread about it so we don't ruin this perfectly good thread.

We should all go elsewhere. It's disrespectful to Ironranger.

So I've started a new thread with my reply.

I just got this free t-shirt from donating to the Disabled Vet Life memorial fund. It says:

Our country would not be the land of the free if it were not also the home of the brave.

                      THANKS FOR ALL THE REPLIES!!!!
I want to say that I feel strongly about what we americans are doing there. I just got back home, and after long and hard thinking I re-upped for 6 more years. I want to finnish what we we started and believe me when I say there is more than just political reasons to be there. I saw many good deeds done ,by all soldiers, and civilians . I am in the infantry so I had a hand in ridding the land of bad guys. that work will never be done, but I can say this much, the areas that we did secure, people slept well.
                      thanks again for your support
