OK need some input. Has anyone used the microsoft flight simulator? I'm intrested in it and flying in general but have never done either. Is the simulator really difficult to grasp or after you do it a few times it will become like everything else with repitition? For those that do you use, do you have any websites for reference or tutorials or books you recommend? TIA

Re: Flight Simulator
I use it daily, I have thousands of hours in it. LOL. Its fun but not exactly realistic. Dont get me wrong its an almost exact simulation of the planes. But being a pilot myself I can tell the difference. www.flightsim.com will have some good info. If you want to fly go to your local airport and a discovery flight or something.1995 Patriot Red T-Topped Z28 A4

Mystery rebuild in progress.

Soon to have 383 ways to beat KBreezy and Shane. :D

Re: Flight Simulator
nice, that's using the ms flight sim? I went to that website that you mentioned but I don't see anything that mentions starting out or just learning. You got any websites bookmarked that might be quick reference for me. I understand the physics of it, i think, it's just refining what each componet does to make it a little easier for me. Now I feel like those noob's that post in here that don't know crap about cars. Doh! I hate that
Hey if you move back from that pic about 1-2 miles my condo should be directly below there.Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.

Re: Flight Simulator
For anyone who uses a flight simulator, check out "acesim.com", and look up the "joyrider". It is a motion base you can build to control pitch and roll using a "flight stick". I found it while researching for components to build a motion simulator for my 3D theator - it works good, but the actuators I have are a bit slow. This "joyrider" is controlled by you, and moves as fast as you move the stick. Looks like a lot of fun, and totally immersive!

Re: Flight Simulator
Im a pilot also, but i dont like flight sim... I do much better with real surroundings haha.
If your becoming interested in planes you should go out and do your discovery flight like 4thGen said.. to get your private pilots license can cost as little as $3,000 dollars.*Matt

Re: Flight Simulator
I am intrested in it. The only thing with me is that if it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all. So the thought of me piloting a airplane thousands of feet above the ground would not be too comforting to those that know me and even myself if I think about it too much.Let's flip a coin. Re: Flight Simulator
Alright so I went and done it. I bought the deluxe sim x version. I think I finally went to sleep at about 130 after playing it for so long. The tutorials that it has are very good and makes it a lot easier to use, I was thinking it would be like the trial version and thank god it wasn't. Thanks again for the input, let me know if there is anything else you would recommend for me to look at.Let's flip a coin. Heads I get tail, Tails I get head.
