toyota is way over rated...my yota that i'm using as a wint beater is completely falling apart, and i've owned a 84 delta 88 that was in much better shape than this 94 canary
see, the only thing that i say is that foreign cars (honda in particular) have much better interior quality than american cars. in terms of.... being able to randomly pull pieces off, being able to see wires and stuff, etc.
leather seats in american cars generally feel cheap.
i LOVE american cars, i just dont think that as of now, they can be considered luxury. yeah, they can get the same/better gas mileage, yeah they can be reliable, but i just dont think that they have the same build quality when it comes to cosmetics and such. its something that can be debated without ever coming to a consensus, because everyone has their own opinions. im just saying that in the past few years, we have had a new audi a6, a new bmw 5 series, an 05 accord ex, an 04 accord lx, and an 04 pilot lx, and even the pilot, or the lx accord, which arent meant to be luxurious, still have nice seats, and everything feels... intact. like the speaker controls, wiper knobs, etc.

what american cars are you comparing it to?
try a new Cadillac
or even a GTO
they are awesome
you can compare it to any car you want. yes, cadillacs and GTOs are getting there, but it still doesnt feel the same. the leather just feels cheap, and the interior is no frills.
(this is definitely changing though, with the new GM sedans, like the impala SS, GTO, etc. they are starting to get nicer in the interior i think)

I agree with steve, the interior quality for American cars was kinda low in the mid to late 90's but it's picking up again. Look at the new Buick Enclave, and GM's new SUVs those things have awesome interiors.
I also agree that the media hypes Honda and Toyota sooooo much, and they really aren't any further than their American counter-parts.
1998 White Camaro 3800, A4, MagnaFlow Cat-Back, Zexel & 3.42's, Jet Chip Stage 2, Whisper Lid, and Ram Air.

well thats the point of the original post I think, yes it was bad, but now its changing
they are working very hard to change the stereotype but are still getting slammed with untrue statements
Cadillac leather doesnt feel cheap to me, i was very impressed with the new STS
that is one fine ride
id really like to see an XLR
