  • renting space in a shop

has anyone here ever rented a spot in an automotive shop. I know that some places allow you to come in and rent a stall for a period of time so you can work on your car but I can't seem to find any in dallas. Maybe I'm searching for the wrong thing.

Any dallas peeps know of a place like this or where to start looking?

I Have never heard of anything like that, maybe if you had friends there...but otherwise if you injure yourself on their property working on the car, they are ****ED!

Funny you brought that up. Riverside Community College takes students' cars and tears them up and put them back together. Like if you want to put in a new Tranny, they'll do it. Given that they are not liable to any damage that they might cause.

Ofcourse I wouldn't take my car to them, I don't trust students. Plus they don't care if it gets scratch.

Tuxedo Park Racing will be renting garage work space and lifts by the hour starting in January. http://www.tuxedoparkracing.com Of course, this is in the St. Louis area and probably won't help much in Dallas. These guys are SCCA racers, and they race prep cars. Maybe you can look for a Dallas area SCCA region? You may find some race shops that have space? Good luck.

i just did my oil pan gasket in a truck shop, i didnt have a lift but i had a heated shop and plenty of tools, and did i pay a dime to do it there, nope! but it sure would have been nice to have a lift and engine support, i had jack stands and 2 12 ton bottle jacks holding my motor up, fun stuff
