Does anyone know anything about this type of settlement?

And more importantly, how does the negotiation process work with this type of settlement. Is it the kind where they make an offer, you make a counter offer, they meet in the middle and it's done?

Or is it the type where they just keep making counter offers and fight it in court on why exactly they believe they are entitled to said amount of money.

If anyone has ever dealt with anything like this or knows something about it I would greatly appreciate any light you could shed on the matter. My families future depends on this, and I'm tired of using my lawyer as the source of finding these things out, because as it already is he's going to be seeing a little over $100,000 check made out from me to him (Stupid lawyers and their money making schemes, it's :bs: I tell you.)

Ok, thanks in advance, I really hope someone can help me.
I called my mother as she was an attorney long ago, but she was a Civil Rights attorney, not litigations. But, she's pulling out all her old law books and trying to find any information she can as well.

For the last time, thank you so much..................

      Re: 9i Settlements

Yeah, I know. But all I keep finding is cases that are in no way relevant to my questions. So far I have only found cases of why it was turning into a 9i Settlement, not how it was worked out, and what the process of it is.

Basically, I'm looking for a definition of it and maybe a few cases that are for this century. Apparently 9i settlements have been around as long as we've been a country from some of the things I have been reading about.

Interesting fact that you will never use in your life:
There was a 9i Settlement case for acts of vandalism during the Boston Tea Party.

quick search on google led me to this site....

              http://www.lawyersandsettlements.com...l?keywords=9-i

thats the link to settlements that had anything to do with 9-i settlements. besides that, i wasnt coming up with much... for what it would cost you to have this explained in detail by your lawyer, it might be worth it in the long run...

It would be best for my lawyer to explain this type of thing to me........but I'm trying to get every penny of it I can earn because I'm going to have to have a knee replacement sometime here in the near future and that's $150,000 if not more, depending on how long it takes and what not..........and then somewhere down the road(hopefully decades to come) I'm going to have to have it amputated and I'm not sure how much that costs.

Needless to say, this money has to last a very long time, and still have enough left over to play with f-bodies. :)
