Does your f-body rattle a lot? My 2000 Firebird only has 91,000 miles but I hate all the rattles I hear. Most of them I hear at idle but they're starting to get real annoying. Anyone else have this problem?

No t-tops but all the rattles come from the interior.

The plastic around the speedo, by the sterring wheel can get going sometimes, I just re tightened the screws and it was fine.

What about the panel on the p/s side by the windshield? I can hear that one vibrating a lot also.

I have 72k, and I consider that a fair amount of mileage. My passenger door panel squeaks really bad for some reason. I'm gonna have to tighten that down. It doesn't really make any noise other than that though. We'll see if it does later on, me and the 'Maro are in it for the long haul.

heh... the bane of my existance haha. try different stuff. to figure it out just start wiggling stuff. if teh thing is rattling on its fasteners (ie screws or clips) tighten them up and maybe smear a dabble of white grease on the offending fastener. you could also buy lil strips of foam to mash between two sqeeking pieces. plastic washers can work too. thats pretty much it. if it squeeks, tighten it down, grease it up, or shove something in between that wont squeek. its pretty much what the auto companies do unless its a big squeek and then you get into acoustic engineering and all that icky stuff.
remember to smear silicone lube on all your weather seals every 6 months to keep 'em soft n supple and quiet. use white lithium grease on door hinges to keep them working smooth too.

My ride has 134K on the clock, and yeah it has alot of squeeks and or rattles. But seeing how Ive stiffened up the suspension over the last few months and the milage, I can live with it. As for the hatch squeeking, I just moved down the lock striker just a hair, and put some white lithium grease on the weatherstrip...so far its the one thing that doesnt make noise.

Re: For those with high mileage cars

my hatch makes a decent amount of noise. ive raised the bump stops to no avail.

then theres this noise that sounds like its coming from where the driver's seatbelt is in the cieling.

the most annoying is the entire dash just makes noises. so many different ones.

and then on the outside my engine ticks and when i stop sometimes i hear this clunk, i think its a piece of the splash guard that came loose and it just flaps around.

windows down, music up, the noises dont bother me at all.
