That's the old definition. It's taken on a new meaning: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rice_burner

I wouldn't worry about what an EVO looks like because you won't ever see anything but it's taillights dissapearing. The body work on that car is all functional and it can out handle super cars. Is it ugly? I think so. Is it rice? Far from it.

          Re: Best way to Drift

The kids who e-brake their 4-door civics equipped with wings the size of texas, can-o-bees exhaust systems and poorly painted interior parts are ricers. Guys who put racing stripes and unsightly bodykits on their '93 Honda Accord wagons are ricers. A large aluminum wing on anything but a 500+ horsepower dragster is rice. Rice by my definition is any car that has bad and distasteful visual mods done to it, like non-functioning hood scoops, bad graphics, large spoilers on FWD cars, 19" ugly rims showing drum brakes in the rear, carbon fiber sticker covering the hood of a car, hood pins on something with < 200hp, etc... The list goes on and on. Rice isn't to be confused with the taco rocket, which is something like an '84 Monte Carlo in poor shape with $16,000 invested in the rims, airbag suspension or hydraulics and paint job.

I don't think stripes on camaros are rice unless you have like three or four going down the center of the car in some odd color. Red strips on a green car or yellow stripes on a blue car, that might be considered rice but black stripes on a white car or red stripes, something like that with matched up colors, I think it looks pretty sweet most of the time on our cars.

I cant believe someone would say stripes on a muscle car is rice.

I think on alot of our f-bodies they look good...

Especially shodown, i think he has one of the nicest looking camaros on the site.

Drifting= Not my thing but if u like it, go for it.

& way to throw out " so kristens car and the 35th anniversary camaro's blah blah blah" , like she is the only one on this website that has stripes you leg humper.

                  Re: Best way to Drift

the best way to learn how to drift is to take the car onto some dirt and attempt to corner.
when i was 16, i learned on dry pavement with cheap tires, but i got much better when i would race my friends in their base model trucks in the desert.
imo, if you can find a nice desert area that's flat, you learn a bit about drifting when you try to break into 50-75mph speeds because drifting is the only way you can corner that fast.
the more space you have, the better.
keep in mind that there's a chance you can roll.

                    Re: Best way to Drift

sooo.... explain to me how racing stripes are ricy? those cars were made before the japanese even knew cars existed, not to mention they run not on gasoline like all cars today. they run on pure testosterone and must be shaved regulary. These are cars so manly that steel workers are intimidated by them... not some sort of poser wanna-be cars which advertise things that aren't there and have gaudy wings and random lights everywhere. so therefore: racing stripes on cars that can actually race.... NOT rice.
racing strips on cars that would lose to a Ford Taurus.... Rice

lol, you are taking the stripes to far..

i was just saying, define rice... stripes, body kits, wings, stuff that does not even look good..

now i like the stripes on his car, but would he call it rice if it was on a civic? cobalt? wrx? lambo? where do you draw the line

drifting has nothing to do with rice, and i know where i live most the people in my school that drift do it in trucks, birds, or maros...

Rice=Japanese. If its not Japanese then its not rice, i dont know what it is, what ever you call it but if its not Japanese its not rice. Besides what are you guys b¡tching at. All the little sissy 4 cylinder cars look booring and cheap to begin with, you should be thanking these people for fancying them up. I would much rather throw down on a car that looks like something other than a grocery getter.

so a 99 neon, w/ carbon fiber gas cap, 10ft spoiler, body kit, neons, fart cannon, and LED's in every spot imaginable is not rice?

there is a term for that...it's called domestic-rice
