tchh... whenever it is wet out i go drifting... and how is it ricer? putting racing stripes on your maro is worse then going out and turning your car sideways around a turn w/o losing controll

drifting is fun, and i reccomend downloading "the Drift Bible"
it teaches you alot of diffrent ways to drift in a FR, and it also gets you really pumped to go out and slide

just because drifting happens to be a ricer fad right now doesn't mean it hasn't existed as a form of driving for a long time, before the term "ricer" was ever coined.

Still, you shouldn't do it on the street. What's the point? Someone could get hurt and chances are you aren't doing it right anyway.

quit bickering you two :spank: :spank:

if your gonna do it, get going decently fast and be about in the middle of the road. if you got a 90* right turn coming up, a little b4 you get to it, turn hard left (about 1/4 to 1/2 steering wheel rotation) while simultaneously pulling firmly on the e-brake. as you turn hard back right into the turn, let the e-brake off quickly while you mash the pedal. once your sideways just do what they told you in drivers training about how to pull out of fishtails: just keep your front wheels pointed forward and you'll pull out.
going quickly, it should seem like the car is "juke-ing" kinda like how a running back jukes the linebackers... stutterstep left, gun it right.

you'll figure out specifics if you do it enuf and crappy tires in the rear help but just be safe and KNOW that theres noone (or nothing) around.

im not much of a fan of it. but its a pretty cool thing to watch if its people who know what theyre doing. i saw a video of some 240sxs doing it at our local racetrack, ive got to admit i was amused by it. i dont quite understand it, but if thats your thing have at it, gives me something to watch. definately takes some talent to do it right.

you guys keep it up and ima start drifting the trans am *****es. :p

                      Re: Best way to Drift

I used to go out and drift daily. It was a dirt road so it was very simple, and I've made my mistakes, but I'm getting kinda good at it. Heck, I'm gonna go back tomorrow :P I'd used the gas to break it free while in third, then pop it into 4th and take the turn. It's an S turn, so I've got to re-adjust immediately and drift the other direction. Fun **** until you pull a 270 and end up meer feet from a 10-15 ft deep ditch. Then it's freaking awesome :D

i disagree with the ricer shizel. its not rice if your in an american car. i never see ricers drifting anyway. but u have a right to say/feel whatever u want. i guess u just dont have the balls to drift

I've noticed this a lot. Not go get off topic here too much here, but pretty much anything about cars that someone doesn't like is called rice.

A ricer is a poser with a black painted hood to look carbon fiber, a ****ty looking body kit, NOS stickers, but a stock 1.4 liter Briggs and Stratton under the hood. Everything else people don't like is just that - **** they don't like.

Drifting is basically dirt track racing style on asphalt. Dude up in Oxford Maine was doing this 20 years ago winning tons of street stock races.
