        Re: Ticket

A police officer not showing up for court? I wish it had happened like that for me all those times when I got tickets as a kid. I doubt he gets off that lucky. If your friend has only had his license for 2 months and already got a ticket for going that fast...Im hoping that this will be a wake up call for him to slow his a$$ down before he kills himself or someone else. Oh and good luck paying the higher insurance premiums.

we've got a assload of cops here in willmar, so i dont think he's gettin off. it sucks that he probly lost his licence though. because he is 1 out of my 2 friends that have their licences. his car kicks *** to, its a 77 thunderbird with a 351 windsor, and custom true dual exhaust that comes out under the doors. funnier than ****

                Re: Ticket

There are so many citations issued here in the city, that the officer who wrote the ticket doesn't have to appear in court as long as the story of what happened is on the citation. There is actually an officer who stands in place for all citations at traffic court. It's his full time job. Weird, but true.

                As for your friend;
He needs a slower car! Owning as fast car at his age could be considered suicide. Hopefully, this is a wakeup call for him...but I doubt it. I have seen way too many young fatalities out there when the vehicle was traveling at an excessive rate of speed and hit solid or other moving objects. I normally have to help the fire dept clean up the body parts, and it's depressing to say the least.

I dont know what the laws are in MN, but I dont think they would pull your license here in WI for that. You go to court and your fine will increase a lot...but you will drop some points.

A bit off topic...but the City of Philadelphia has Red Light Camera's installed on our most dangerous stretch of road here. If your car runs the light, it takes a photo of the plate and you get a $100 ticket in the mail with no points. If you choose to fight the ticket, and lose, the points get tacked on.
Owners of the vehicles normally fight the ticket saying that they were not driving the car, but the Judge usually says that they are responsible to find the operator (at the time of the infraction) and make them pay the ticket.

                    I think it's a pretty good theory.

just a heads up, everytime I went to court to fight tickets... the cops showed up, except for once, but it was so freaking outragous no way I was losing.

88 in a 55 really isnt that bad, and if its his first ticket, he really shouldnt lose his license.

In illinois, i beleive the law is, 3 tickets in 1 year and you will get a suspension for 3 mos. to 1 year.

I was the ******* that had speeding tickets left and right, and got my license pulled for 1 year.

                            My first ticket when i was 16, 111mph in a 50mph.
                            Driving a 94 Trans Am

It was a 250 dollar ticket and I would have been in the clear if I didnt keep getting tickets on top of that one.

On a side note, my best friend has 28 driving violations, or as i like to call em, driving awards...

He's been suspeneded longer than hes had his license.

I'm not sure about the laws there, but here in Mississippi....no matter what your current record maybe, if you are pulled over for going 30mph or faster than the set speed limit.......then you are going to jail and guranteed to have a suspended license for 3 months (1st offense) 6 months(2nd offense) and I never got caught a 3rd time, but it's probably a year to three.

So, he's lucky his little butt didn't get hand-cuffed and brought down to the station. That is reckless endangerment at it's finest right there. That means there was a list of things that cop could have given him tickets for and that boy wouldn't have seen the driver's seat of a car unless mom's and pop's got him those new uber cool Escalade power wheels, with the new body style features.
