I normally have to help the fire dept clean up the body parts, and it's depressing to say the least.
I hate it when people say that teenagers shouldn't be driving fast cars. I've got my Camaro, which is faster than that Thunderbird, and I'm only 17. Yes I've had close calls with it, but that, IMO, is a good thing. If anything ever happens, I've got all the times that I've gone and screwed around in the middle of a parking lot or something to fall back on. That time that I almost hit the light pole just saved me from almost running into a car head-on cuz the wet roads caused me to hydro-plane (not real-life, just an example). And don't blame the hydroplaning on the driver. Everyone in my famliy has had their vehicle start hydroplaning, so it does happen. Some kids do get stupid though and do it all in traffic, but that doesn't mean every kid will. So he got caught for speeding. Have you done the speed limit EVERY time you WHOLE life?!? That doesn't mean he goes out and tries to drift in the middle of traffic. I realize that most of the time it is a stupid kid being.... well.... stupid..... but, I'm saying it's not always that reason. I'm a stupid kid, and I've got a fast car. I know how to control it though cuz of all the stupid things I've done. I've had close calls, but I still drive recklessly when I feel like it. I've gotten tickets, but that doesn't stop me. No, I'm NOT saying I'm the best driver out there and will never ever get into a crash or anything, but what I am saying is cuz of my stupidity with my car, I feel I've got a better idea of what my car will do and what I should so when something does happen.

Yeah, you are. What was said is that he got a ticket for speeding and if he should try and beat it or not. I said he shouldn't have a fast car as his FIRST car, and I stand by that statement 100%. Okay, you've gone over the speed limit at certain times...congrats! We ALL have and we ALL still do it. But to say that you almost hit a lightpole or gone head on into another vehicle when hydroplaning is totally off of this subject.

You also say you can handle a fast car, well, I seriously doubt it! I've been driving for over 18 years now and been behind the wheel of many different cars. I'm not afraid to admit that I'm still learning. Unless you're a professional, I wouldn't make a statement like that.

I'm not sure going crazy in a parking lot or driving is really helpful. It might teach you a lesson, but still. Hydroplaning can be avoided as well. Although there are instances where it is impossible, usually driving slow on a wet street and being careful will avoid that. You think you KNOW how your car will handle. No offense, but you have been driving for 2 years at the max, I doubt you know it as well as you think you do. Good luck. ;)

I said I'm not the best driver out there. What I meant was, since I go and screw around, I have an idea as to what my car will do if it ever happens.... If you have an idea as to what will happen, you're 1 step closer to preventing a crash
