Great advice. I wouldn't trade my son for anything. your daughter is precious.

'06 was good to me: I finally had the motor rebuilt!

06 was a pretty good year for me, it had it's highs and lows. I turned 21, I fell in love, I had a few different jobs, I fell out of love, I learned who my real friends are (All of 'em), I got rid of the system in my car and regained 50% of my hearing lol, I got my new T5 for my car, haha probably best thing that happened to me all year, since I was driving around without 3rd for a while, eek!

I had my longest ever relationship with a girl I thought I'd marry, but as that proved to be wrong things changed but the way I look at everything in life is take it as it comes and make the best of any situation thrown at you, and take everything taht goes wrong as a lesson. Hey if anything it made me wiser right?

I figure take the good with the bad and try to make the best out of the bad. Engine blows up? That's an excuse for a rebuild. Hit a deer on the road? Yeah I have a cracked fashcia and a broken fog light but thats an excuse to get a new front end, maybe a 98+ conversion with some bright HIDs and a fiberglass hood :stp:

06 was ok. Started off slow and miserable and ended awesome. Beginning of 06 I was in my Junior year of HS. Finishing up all my classes so my Senior year would be fun and easy, so that was a big pain. Learned who my real friends are a few times. Then, summer hit. I get a new car (the Camaro), a nice part time job, and start savin up some $$$. Get to buy a few things for the Camaro, start back school and all. This school-year is awesome so far work wise. Plus, I've got an amazing girl that I plan on staying with, and she plans on staying with me. 07 is starting off amazing, I just hope it doesn't end up horrible.

06 SUCKED. bought a truck with a supposedly rebuilt motor that was rediculously botched, transferred to a different college where the hockey team is non-existant and the student body is very alienated from itself. watched as my best friend went to the navy and has picked up a coke habit. watched as my 2nd best friend (2nd as in two of them not as in rank) fell further into alcohol addiction and almost kill himself when a tree "jumped in front of him" one night. I watched as my bank account slowly dwindled down to nothing and my mom told me she wishes she would've aborted me (we dont talk now) i'm now single after 2 1/2 years. (theres not even another guy which makes it SOOO hard to understand cuz we were perfect together) and now i'm broke, live at my dad's house a good 45 miles from my job, and i still got another 3 1/2 years of college if i dont change my major...
2007 will probably suck just as bad if not worse cuz i'll watch my friends crash from the tailspin they're in now, my ex will probably find someone and then she'll be gone too. I keep my legs, yes, but i'm living out the song "the kids aren't alright" by The Offspring and its just sooo depressing.

Don't let it happen. If your friends mean that much to you, make them not do it. I've had to get friends away from drugs numerous times, but then once they keep trying to go back I realize they could careless how I felt about them doing it so I said goodbye to them as a friend.

Beat the living hell out of them if words don't take much affect with them. They will see one way or another that you care more about their health and well-being of their life someway. It's just your job as a friend to get that message to them................somebody does care what you do with yourself.

                Re: Looking back on '06

well, i graduated high school, had the best summer of my life, then i went to college and the girl im practically in love with gets some **** of a boyfriend, i partied way to much, tried the d1 sports thing where i didn't know anyone, my liver/kidneys and a whole buncha other stuff started bleeding and I was in the ER for a couple days. My best friend spent a month in the hospital fighting for her life the next week because she was randomly coughing up blood and wasn't able to breath until she passed out. I got an MIP the first three days at college on the team bonding tradition of float trip. Cops were dressed up in cammo hiding in the woods with tasers and pulled my boat over. Parents sold the car, so im car less. Then my dad lost his job with no severance for no reason after 26 years of working there. He is now un-insurable because he has a bad leg with damaged nerves due to removing cancer. He could loose if its becomes infected. I feel bad because I know hes going through a lot more then anyone I know. He likes to deal with stuff on his own and never talks about the downside of life or complains, and my mom gives him endless crap about money and he never says anything back. Also he has to deal with his leg, which more or less doesn't work anyway. He cant feel, or move it and all the muscle has died away.

So, unable to pay, and keep up with grades i decided to transfer back to instate, give up the sport and get my life back and help out my dad. Been a hell of a year but it hasn't really bothered me too bad, I always believe things will workout. This years resolutions: get a 4.0, buy a car, help out my family and get that girl back :)

after reading everyone else it sounds like a lot of us had tough years, things could be a lot worse I suppose but that doesn't make it any easier.

                          Re: Looking back on '06

hmm 06, started off kinda blah, in a job making decent money wasn't very happy, me and the girlfriend were kinda rocky for the first couple of months. Dad's business failed which started a domino effect in the parents finances that may never end. I got a better job midway through the year and love what I am doing and making more than the job I was miserable at, things got better with the girlfriend who is now my fiancee and we have been living together since september. We are looking to our future together and very happy, hopefully will be married in June. I don't know what's going to happen with the parents though, that's a downward spiral that just seems to have no end.

If 07 is just a little better than 06 then I can't complain, good job, good woman, good car, good motorcycle..

                            06 was fun for me
started my moving company in february
started a new relationship in november
had some good life lessons as to who my real friends are
had a few wake up calls that sucked at the time, but overall were good for me
im pretty happy with life and excited for 07 and what it might bring

I got ran over by a 5,000 lbs forklift and my knee got caught in between the fenderwell and the wheel.

It crushed my knee and leg, and ripped out the back of my leg allowing for all the crushed up parts of my knee to fall out and all of the muscle surrounding it.

But, a crushed knee, 68 breaks to the leg and lots and lots of surgeries later and I have a make shift knee made out of some metal, some parts of my hip and one of my calf muscles being used as knee muscle and I can walk with a gangsta limp.
