Do you wear glasses?

I was wondering who wears glasses/contacts here........ i usually wear glasses most of the time and always when using computer .......... if not then i get bad headache .........but last week i lost my glasses and it's been horrible .............. my power for the lens is -.75 on right, -1.0 on left which means i can see fine close distance but i can't see far ............... so, after dealing about a week of headache, i am going to Optometrist on thursday (01.04.07) ........

Now, the reason i posted the poll is to see who wears contacts ........... i like glasses but honestly it's REAL expensive to replace if lost, it puts a heavy mark on the nose and there are no coverage on the sides ............ I have been thinking about contact lenses .......... i heard they provide more area for the eye and easy to wear ............ i have also found that they can cause infection to your eye :eek: .......... one of my friend who wears contacts, he also can't see far, said that for those who can't see far contacts the best way ............ oh also, with contacts i can change the color of the eyes, which i think cool as heII :banana: .........so, what you guys think? ........ tell me if there's any cons of contact lenses ............

P. S. I don't know about you guys, but after watching a few episodes of playmenia , i think Shandi Finnessey is HOT !

I wear contacts. They are SO much better than glasses. The cover the whole iris, which I didn't think they did. They can only give you an infection if you dont clean them every night or leave them in while you sleep like every night. Unless you get the ones you can leave in overnight. If you have astigmatism forget about those. I can read from far away with no issues. Contacts are about the same price as glasses although mine are more expensive due to me stigmatism... bastard right eye.. I'd say get contacts. My exam for contacts plus my first pair was only $99.

I do have glasses, but I dont wear them, so I said "No. But I need to soon"

I'm near sighted and I wear glasses all the time.

I use to wear contact but I develop so more protein deposit that I damaged my left. Plus I didn't like the hassle of putting them on anymore.

Contacts are about the same price as glasses although mine are more expensive due to me stigmatism

When i got my glasses from lenscrafter, my bill was $295 and yes, i had to pay from my pocket because i didn't had any insurance at that time .....that price was without anytint and not so light weight lenses (lightest ones are more expansive) .......... on the other hand, contacts could be pretty cheap like 30 bucks /box .........i should've gotten contacts at the first place because i have a history of losing stuff ................

I wear glasses. I did have contacts at one point, but everyone said I looked weird in them cuz they were used to my glasses. Plus, I'm not too good at putting them in. I'm thinking about going back to contacts, but not too sure yet....

I wore glassed for 15 years and now I've had my contacts for 13 or so. Contacts are SO much better. There are no cons. They might be a touch more expensive, but worth it.

I have disposable contacts now, but I used to have daily wear. The nice thing about disposables is if you lose one, f it, open a new box. You can also sleep with them in (I don't except when I drink too much ;-))

It does take some time to become good at putting them in. Be patient. I get high quality contacts that don't fold into themselves easily. Otherwise, f-ing w/ that takes time. Once you get the hang out it, it's a piece of cake.

Contacts > glasses in every way.

^^^ awesome ............ i think putting them on would not be problem ........my brother have contacts ..............he is 19 ........i just talk to him and he said that it was a little trouble in the beginning to put them on but now it's a piece-of-cake ............... i also found this website (they also sell on EBAY ) that sells some cool stuff for contact lenses ............ http://www.softsert.com/index.html ................ it looks like cool thing to have if you have contacts............

I only wear glasses after I take out my contacts so I can make it to bed (I'm pretty much blind). While having contacts is 1000 times better then glasses after 10+ years I really want to get laser surgery.

Taking care of contacts has become a lot easier over the last few years. So I wouldn't worry about that. As far as putting them in goes it will be a hassle at first, but it will become second nature.

One time when I was still in a just woke up daze I put both in one eye. That was interesting...

That looks gimicky to me. If your contact goes inside out, you'll know right away because it will "float" around on your eye. The brand I get never flip inside out. Typically, if a contact turns inside out, you just roll it in your hand a little bit and it should end up in the right-side out position.

I am not sure that softsert thing would be worth the money, but that's just me. It takes less than 15 seconds for me to get both contacts in.

As Mike said, I will never go back to glasses. The only time I ever wore mine was when my son got glasses. I wore them so that he would wear his. I hated every second of it.

i wear glasses when driving or reading or watching tv. other than that i dont wear them.

not a fan of contacts at all.
