Bigralph 2 did you froget that the Corvette started life as a 6 banger. Not like it was unheard of. But thats just a chop of the sky with vette emlems. :spank:

The vette will always be the top of the line chevy out there and I doubt it will be back with a V6 anytime soon.

I'm going to photoshop a corvette logo onto a F-14 and make a website about it being the new ZR-1.

That's a Saturn Sky. It's got to be a joke. Back in the early '90's I heard they were going to use a turbo V6, like the Sy & Ty. This was because the V8 was being overpowered by the Turbo V6. But it was just that, rumors, that never happened. Next thing you know LT1 happened.

Should there be a V6 Vette? I think so. The number 1 complain I hear from Vette owner is the gas mileage and insurance. They like the look and name but the gas and insurance kills them.

That's probably why used Vettes are so plentiful at any dealers. But then again an underpower V6 Vette with only 240-260 would get rape by Nissan Z, Maxima, and Mazda's.

this is a repost of what i did
like thor said its the saturn sky/ soltice but chevys version and they said in motor trend it might be called the stingray or something and a v6 vette would be suicide for corvettes reputation

The whole concept is a waste of time and money in my opinion. Want a vette? go buy one. Don't like what it comes with? Don't buy one.

QFT! Besides, for the most part, if you can afford a vette, you can afford what it takes to own one.

My dad's friend with a ferrari called the dealership to ask if he could use premium 92 octane gas with octane booster instead of the 100 octane jet fuel required and the ladies reponse on the other end was: "Sir, if you can afford a Ferrari, you can afford the gas."

if i were to buy a vette no doubt the 8, 6 would be waste if money

Most people who buy cars are not horsepower junkies. They want a name brand, good looks, practicality and good passing power so they buy a V6 instead of a V8.

That's why V6 Fbody, V6 Stang, Dodge and so on out sells V8. Go to any dealer and you more likely to see a C5 and some C6 in their use car lot. Ask the dealer why the owner traded it and they will say it was too much car for them.

I think chevy wants to make this as an option. I don't think it will hurt them to have a practical car that people will drive around the street.

To be devious, think of the aftermarket that will come from this that we can benefit from.
