WHY do F-Bodies have AUTOS!?!

Ive always prefered a Manual over a automatic trans, especially if its a "sporty" or sports car.

Come on, the V6 F-body isnt fast comapared to "fast" cars, but why kill it with an auto. There are SOOOO many cars that id own now if they were manuals.

Just sucks when you see car after car after car of what you want, just all automatics.

Ive seen 3 recently, all 96+, 3.9, T-top, fully loaded, exactly-what-i-want but with autos.

Everyone says to just get an auto, but nothing makes me happier than dropping the clutch at 3k, isnt the same with an automatic.

manuals suck. it's not the autos fault your car sucks. chances are, if you lost with the auto, you would most likely lose with the manual. especially since the auto doesn't really take but a sliver more powertrain lose and most people shifting a manual will do worse with the manual.

I'm just messing with you. I love autos. Every been on a date with some hot girl? Dont have to move your hand from other places, just so you can shift! True sometimes its more fun to have a manual car but do you think you can shift your manual faster than a computer can shift my auto? Nope dont think so.

Buy a Chrysler so you can have an Autostick - best of both worlds. I prefer automatics to manuals, but it is fun when driving my mom's 300m to use the autostick. Makes you feel 'in control.'

Not at a real track (road course). :p

With a manual you can generally get better gas milage, you have more control over when it shifts, you have control over what gear you are in, and if you are power shifting I don't think you are going to lose that much time at the drag strip.

However, autos are easier and more consistent at the strip which is why they are favored. Plus they are strong than the T5 which gets a bad rep here.

Autosticks are pieces of crap. Unless it is a full blown clutch setup with paddle shifters it's just gimmick to make people who can't drive a stick make themselves feel good.

I hate the autostick in my moms Sebring, it just feels so lifeless without a clutch.

My car is auto, and I dont mind it, there are some times I think a standard might be cool to have, but overall, Id prefer my auto.

my first two cars were automatic, my firebird is a manual and i love it. I do hate driving in the city with it, but overall i'd take a manual over an automatic anyday. But i guess its preference to the driver. some people just can't handle manual transmissions... most of them are chicks!
