It's pretty much been covered. The Auto's reign superior to manuals at the track.

ok lets race.... all my car has is a set of bilstein shocks and z28 sways.





Manual > autos hands down...



T5s.. they do blow donkey balls because they are too weak for our motors. Unfortuneatley I have learned this lesson like 4-5 times. LOL


What I hate is the fact that you could never find a fully loaded v6 with a 5-speed.


I mean does anyone have t-tops, power everything, leather and a 5-speed?

A better question is why don't most american cars come in a standard? Gram Am - only with the 4 bang. Grand Prix - no. Impalla - no.

I bought my bimmer because I couldn't find a decent v6 american sedan with a stick.

I guess I'm pretty lucky, 35 anniversery Camaro, t-tops, all black interior with black leather, and best of all of course, the manual transmission. Driving an automatic just gets boring really. You never have to do anthing...dull.

Theres not as much skill required for an auto so theres never really any room to improve. This creates a lack of a challenge and lack of fun.

I feel almost as bad for people who drive auto's as I do for people who drive firebirds. You poor poor souls.

It's a fair question. GM automatics are stronger than their manuals. The automatic in our car is the same used on a Corvette. It can take a lot of hp & torq. without being modified.

GM perfected their auto and it much better than their manuals. Other car companies like Ford, Dodge, Toyota, Nissan, and such--your better off with their manual.

a manual car is not always the best choice for every person
to the original poster, to answer your question, because they want to sell cars
why would you want your product sold to <30% of your possible consumer base?
thats just stupid business choices
they want to sell as many cars as possible, some people want autos, they are going to sell them
manual is a choice tho, so you shouldnt be whining
if you want a manual, go find one they are out there

QFT .............. if i am buying a GM, i rather buy an auto because thats like 90% of GM cars are equipped with but if i am buying a 350z or any other non gm cars , manual all the way .........................

I would take a t56 over my auto any day, unfortunately they don;t bolt up to our cars :(

BUILT autos are quicker than BUILT manuals in the drag... but thats about it, road racing, street racing, etc id take a manual
