  • Why must they challenge?

    Here is a little rant:

Tonight was my first night home since I got out of college and spent Christmas Day. With nothing to do than work on various things around the house I decided to go out to the movies with my younger brother. After hopping a few movies we left because lets face it, it was like 23:55. Haha. Well on the way home going down Route 21 near Clifton, New Jersey I get boxed in by some old slow *** vans.

I put on my blinker to move into the next lane when a new-ish Infiniti G35 Coupe (2005/6? I haven't a clue) shows up. I'm patently waiting for him to pass me as I'm talking to my brother. He pulls up right along side of me; he doesn't seem to be move and I'm going wtf-mate. I look over and there are two dude in there flipping me off going "yeah baby what do ya got punk???" Continuously honking his horn. I'm like whatever as I rolled up the windows and on goes the radio. He'd kill me because I'm pretty much bone stock. What does that G35 have? 275, 300 HP Stock? Besides, I have my little brother with me, keeping him safe is more important to me than anything else.

He finally blasts down the highway, so I finally get in the lane to pass-up the rust bucket van. A mile down the way there’s that Infiniti is again... flipping me off… showing off what he has... again. I slowed down gradually to like 45 (speed limit being 65), hoping he'd just go, but sadly he slows down to my speed. So I said the hell with it, and I just sped up and passed him going the speed limit. Low and behold the ***-bag blasts passed me yet again. This time he gets into my lane pretty quick and slams on the breaks. I'm going to myself, "What the hell are wrong with these people? Do they seriously want to damage a nice looking car?" Luckily my exit was just ahead, so I swung on that was soon as I could.

Now here I am cursing myself for being home for the night. Anyway, why must they challenge someone just because they see an F-Body on the road in the middle of the night? Bothers me at times. I’m especially bothered when you see me doing the speed-limit because I'm with my family.

yeah, they arent that impressive stock or even semi stock honestly. they weigh a bit more than teh 350z and the 350z's have all sorts of problems getting into the 13s stock or mildly modified.

i know what you mean man. i was on my way back to school one night...pulled on the interstate at Corinth, MS heading to Selmer, TN...next thing i know, a GP pulls up next to me (i'm doing at least 75) and just sits. stays in the lane next to me except during the occassional hill or turn in which i lose him by a few cars. stayed at my side trying to coax me into a race all the way to Selmer...20 miles. some people are so stupid.

ill run with the occasional ricer that i see, just hold next to him for like a 1/2 mile or so to see if he'll go or not... but never like 20 miles, or be all rediculous honking the horn and screaming ****! to feel better about that, id just think about them yelling at the next person they do that to, and not paying attention to the road. then you look over just in time to see them smash into a stopped semi

eventually, they'll come across the wrong person and they'll get pulled from the car and rightfully get their asses kicked.

Not sure how you call the highway patrol in other states, but here in Mississippi you just dial *hp and get them on the phone, describe the car that is next to you and say they are racing on the interstate and give them the mile marker......find out how long they are going to be and then when you get near that time, honk back at them, point forward and start to race them, then suddenly slow down and get behind them. :)

Kudos to you for being far more mature than those punks. Sometimes it is harder to do nothing than to retaliate. were they younger?

You defintely should have called the police and reported the incident. The police won't do anything on the spot, but they will log the incident. The next time the punk gets pulled over, the cop will be less likely to go easy on them.

                          amen to that.

in my camaro, i'd either do the same thing (slow down) or get off the highway unless i really felt like wasting the nitrous - which probably wouldn't be heated to usable pressure anyway.

in my 98 beater saturn i'd probably flip the road rage switch and show those yuppie kids that they should mind the unstable. :spank:
