Looking to buy a digital camera. I have a digital video camera and the quality of the pics are decent enough... but i'm planning on doing alot next summer and this spring... traveling and what not... therefore i'd like to get a really nice digital camera but I don't want to pay for something that has more than what i need. Taking pictures while on trips and pics of my car to post online. High quality camera...
Can someone please help me out with some ideas... I looked on ebay and well there are thousands and i'm just lost.

I have an olympus and its pretty good. The one i have has more features than your looking for. I would go to cnet.com and check out reviews of the point and shoot digital cameras.

I've got a Kodak LSX750. The pictures are AMAZING! 5mp, and I can blow them upto 150% on my 16" CRT screen and I strain to see the pixels. The video quality is nice as well, but the fact that they're in .mov format kinda stinks. but, Photobucket and myspace accept .mov videos (most other places don't). You could go with a 4mp and be just fine. heck probably even a 3mp. Any name brand would do fine. Olympus, Kodak, Sony, Fuji, etc etc. Thing is, if you get a good camera, you're gonna want a good photo printer as well, so keep that in mind as well.
Canon Powershot A710 IS is awesome! I am extremely happy with this camera. Image stabilization is the wave of the future; to get one without it now is crazy, IMHO. Handheld 1/5" exposures with not a hint of blur is great! Great movie modes (up to 60 fps!), stitch assist, and full manual controls.
If you want one a little less expensive, look into the lower cameras in the Powershot line. They are all great, but only the A710 IS has optical image stabilization.
My only regret is not going with the Powershot G7. Same basic features but even better. That's probably more than you're looking for, though.
Another vote for Canon ............ they are amazing cameras ............ i have sony ........ it takes really good pictures but it's bulky, slow flash recovery time, crappy battery life, even the slightest hand move makes the pic blurry ...........then oneday i used my friends cannon ..........amazing camera ........we were at the party and we took picture while in the dance floor and picture came out perfect ........... we almost had it on all night long , no battery drain ..........it's slim ....very user friendly ............. that camera made my sony look like crap ............. so go with canon, you wont be disappointed ......... i think my friend had the previous model of this class (elph) ...... here's the new model ...............http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...&modelid=14227 ............. my next camera deff would be cannon ............. i have used sony, kodak, casio, nikon (<--- 2nd position after canon , takes crystal clear pic, good options but bulky camera) .................... good luck
reallly....................hm...................ma ybe I should distinguish myslef from others in some way......................hmmmm.................... ....post whoring now :P...............o, and I can get you some of the pics I took with my Kodak if you want.......I'm warning you, they're HUGE..........and you can find my camera for around $100 shipped on eBay.....................
so the one on top is better because hit has better MP right? Just wondering if I want something with alot of pixels because i am wanting it to be small enough to carry around easily, pocket size, and yet have really really good quality pictures.

i have a kodak v603 or something like that... its 6.1 mp and takes great pics and movies.. i think it was around $250. its really small too.. its about the same length and width as a slvr cell phone except a little thicker
i have a nikkon cool pix with 8.1 mega pixels i like it and think it is really clear
my mechanic has like a $2000 digital camera and he can switch the lenses it is amazing he showed me pics of his his 2 vettes and he showed me pics from races he has been to AMAZING quality
this guy is the best mechanic i no he can do anything to a car
both of his vettes can lift the front tires, he has a 62 and a 69, he bought the 62 from my dad and both of those cars are FAR from stock but the 69 looks stock and both have easy over 600hp
The Cannon cameras are great, but my next will be a Sony. Thats because it can connect up to and use the slideshow feature built into my Sony LCD TV. Tried using it with my brother-in-laws Cannon camera and the TV didn't recognize it.
Now Playing: \'99 Pewter Firebird, stock, bone stock, and nothing but stock, so help me God!
Comming attractions: K&N Filter, Lid Mod, Intake Bellows Smooth Pipe Mod.
I dream about: Forced Induction (TC or SC) or NOX (or both!)
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
