all we are saying is that a 12 second v6 is much more impressive than a 12 second v8.
So is a 12 sec. 4 banger Honda more impressive than a 12 sec v6/v8 camaro/bird? I dont see how you could say that. Both are pretty good. Not too fast not too slow. It doesnt matter what you use to get to the 12's just as long as you got there.
Hmm, I've been on this forum quite a while so I can give you a few pointers:
-1st off, tell them insurance on a V6 is cheaper. Even though it was less than $100/yr more when I upgraded to an LS1.
-Tell them the V6 gets better gas mileage. Even though they are exactly the same in most cases, and both of my LS1's got better mileage on the hwy than my V6.
-Tell them the V6 handles better due to the lower engine weight, even though there is a 14 pound block difference and there is no V6 that could out handle a optioned out SLP or 1LE Camaro
-Tell them automatics are faster and better, especially for drag racing. Especially when you don't have an aftermarket stall converter, or one over 3500 and you've never seen a 1.6 or better 60'.
-Slap some nitrous on your V6 and some bolt ons and run a 13.8-9 in the 1/4, then find a stock LS1 and say to the driver: "HAHA UR GAY ISMOKED UR ATE!!!!!UGAY"
-If all else fails you can just insult their penis size. You know the only reason they have a V8 is because they are compensating for something. Real men drive V6's. Hell, mine shrunk 3 inches when I got my V8. It goes inside of me when I stand up!

There were months I spent more time under my car than driving it. I've cut more than a full second off my stock 1/4 ET just by scratching the surface. I intend to go much further, as well. I've been thru good times, bad times, and everything in between. I've gone thru hell and high water modding this car, and the adventure's just begun. So don't lecture me about "loving what i have."
This is exactly what I can respect, and I hope that you get a lot more around here if you stick around. You're taking your time researching results, carefully planning your next move, then pouring your heart into modifying the car yourself. Then hitting the strip a few times, and practicing until you know you've made the best of your setup. Then if that's not enough, changing it up until you're satisfied. That alone is what I admire, ET doesn't really matter when you've satisfied your OWN goals.

i would be just as happy with a v8 as i would with a v6.
its not about the motor stock anyways, its about the time you put into it and the knowledge you gain along the way. Taking a motor with a stock rating of ~160rwhp all the way up to ~550ish hp is amazing.....and would be equally as amazing with a v8

Exactly...
I got a lot of respect from my fellow fbody guys here in MN when I ran with a few of them just playing around. A lot of the guys in that group I have sent here with their v6s, and they have changed their mind from selling their car for a v8 when they found out exactly what a v6 CAN do.
Respect the work and dedication that goes into the car. Honestly I think its cooler to have a 500hp v6 then a 800hp v8... Hell you can pickup almost any performance catalog read a few pages almost anywhere online and built a 800hp 5.7.....

4 banger honda's that run 12 seconds are just as impressive, yes. but 10 bucks says they look and sound like complete A$$.

this is some of the dumbest stuff ive ever read. however, most of it is true. v6 people on here often do talk like that.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
