I've been thru good times, bad times, and everything in between. I've gone thru hell and high water modding this car, and the adventure's just begun. So don't lecture me about "loving what i have."

Sheesh, some of yall are way too caught up in your self-righteous "A V6 CAN DO ANYTHING UR V8 CAN!!!!!eleven!!!!!!one!11" hype. I'm sorry you have such a vendetta against V8 drivers...but toughen up, cupcake. When someone says "there's no comparison b/t a LS1 and a L36," they aren't bashing your car; they're calling it as it is. And responding with the typical "well if u do this/that/the other, itll be just as fast as ur car is stock!!!!!" just makes you sound like a hypocrit(you're allowed to mod your car, but they can't?) and a ricer(you throw enough money at a car, it'll do anything).

This IS a "V6" site in case you haven't noticed. A lot of people have dreams around here and are making those dreams come true. There are MANY members who are building their cars and making them as fast or faster than larger displacement motors, so read up, and learn. ;) Everyone knows the differences between the two motors STOCK. Modified is a whole nother' game, which can go either way. :D

      Re: V6 vs. V8

I bought a v6 because I couldn't afford a v8. Simple as that... if i could have found a newer model v8 fot the price of the v6 then i would have bough it... but if i didn't have another car i would probably stick with the v6 for gas mileage reasons and always hearing about the GREAT buick motors in our cars. 135k miles now and haven't had any problems

ah, there's that hypocritical, ricer hype that I was talking about...you can mod your car, but all larger displacement engines have to stay stock

I bought mine for the same reason. I've always had cars with the 3800, and the mint 2002 y87/w68 pewter-metallic t-topped 'bird i just bought is the best envelope to put it in. take the tops off, sink into black leather, crank the monsoon...pure sex. My wife actually despises my new "mistress". She gets all like " That damn car gets more attention and quality time then i do...blah,blah  "
I'd love a v8 but i would get into serious trouble w/it b/c of my lack of self control.

Anyways, i've had more girls check out my car then anything I've ever driven, especially when the tops are down. They don't give a $h!t whats under the hood, they just want to go for a ride.

Find a single post about me specifically complaining about any aspect of my car.

                            Re: V6 vs. V8

Point is obvious as stated. No comparison stock to stock. However, Modified 3.8 to stock LS1 a possible ***-whoopin is in order and modified 3.8 to modified LS1 depends on mods (but more likely the LS1 will pull out on top). Everything depends on MODS and DRIVER. It's run what you brung and if you ain't brung enough you're done. I never had a problem with LS1's at the track. Guess I was lucky I never raced a modded out one with blower and juice or cam or whatever. The only LS1 car I remember losing to BADLY was a nitroused Z06 on the freeway. :burn:

That's a bull**** comparison and you know it.

and do the same mods to both engines and guess who's gonna come out on top? Also, if the driver sucks, guess what? You beat the driver, not the car/engine.

v6, v8 who cares... I've got three cars. One is a v8 and the other two are v6. The v8 will spank the v6 cars, but for a daily driver that is fun and better then most daily drivers i love my firebird. If i wanted to race, i'd get my 80 malibu out and race. So don't compare racing a v6 and a v8. You guys are comparing apples and oranges.
