Freakin' mint! Had a 305 with non-EGR Edelbrock intake manifold, Tri-Y headers and y-piper, Mallory distributor, Holley 600 carb and a Doug Nash 5-speed. I forgot if it was the WS6 suspension or the Tallon all from Mecham. 56k original miles. I shifted from 1st to second at red line and the rear end broke lose. Mecham REALLY woke up that 305. I wish I had $7000.
Re: So I drove a 83' Mecham Racing Tran Am tonight.
thats cool...
how does it compare to a 3.4 or 3.8?
im asking this because my neighbor has a 87 or 88 Pontiac GTA... its an automatic, mint condition as well. has those gold spoke gta wheels and some kind of performance or suspension package.. i really like it, the hood looks great imo. im considering about asking him if he would sell it to me. i seriously need to ask him if i can test drive it sometime..
Re: So I drove a 83' Mecham Racing Tran Am tonight.
The Mecham was near 300 hp. I would compare it too an LT1 but the GTA would be a quicker than a 3.8. The 305 has 205 HP and 290 something torque and the 350 has 210 hp and 315 tq. I would take it!

Re: So I drove a 83' Mecham Racing Tran Am tonight.
why didnt anyone ask me about performance when it comes to a 87 gta? i owned 1 and let me tell u that car was hard to drive! and well it got wrecked...but as far as fast no it wasnt fast my car would probly match it or beat it 87's dont have much more hp then the 3.8's
Still trying to find oil leak on my Camaro, it’s a tough one. I think it is the oil pressure sender myself. Leaking when raving and going into boost....
