Re: NASCAR Fans: Daytona testing! *Pics & Vids*

I was under the assumption that they were running a new body style this year? Looks like the same style in those pics. And by the way, anyone Ricky Rudd fans? ESPN mag said he's comin back this year.

Yeah, I don't get to work till 3. But if you're coming back out, stop by Guest Services and ask for Robby or Tech 9.

Ricky Rudd is driving the 88 car for Yates this year since DJ left. The new sponsor is Snickers.

The one at Daytona USA, right? There's not another one for the track or anything? I'll probably stop by around 4pm. Do you know if they'll still be testing then?

Yeah, the Guest Service at Daytona USA. I think testing is till 5PM. Then the Busch Series rolls in on Friday to test Sat and Sun. I think they have Q&A both nights.

And there's still tickets available for the Daytona 500.

It has a completely new aero design to lessen the effects of air on the car (thus putting more emphasis on driving and less on aero push, taking the air off spoilers, etc).

It has a weird front valance - it sets farther into the car (hard to explain). It also has a small wing instead of a spoiler. Some pics here: http://www.nascar.com/2006/news/head...est/index.html

where have you been Matt! (btw this is Eric if you haven't kept up with my screenames)

and rt1, you work at daytona USA? I knew you worked something with the track...

I got my tickets for the Rolex race... Infield garage pass... imo a badass race. Gonna do the full campu out thing for 2 days, didn't get a orange section pass in time so going to have to do it before the new orange section thing.

I love the rolex, I went to the pepsi 400 awhile back but daytona gets crazy, its not soo bad for the rolex, and its cool you can campout with whatever you bring. Gonna be taking my parents spare dodge ram with topper this year(more stuff!) nothing like partying with jagerbombs, sparks, Be^2 all night sleeping all day, then waking up to the sound of Vettes, mustangs, ferrarais, lambos and GTOs that have been running all night long and the exhaust has slowly been burning off...

I have heard the truck series race gets pretty crazy since there are no restrictor plates...

Either way we should have a meet, i have been workin 50 hours weeks in Port Orange(like 5 min south of the track) for the last month.

Been busy with work and other stuff. Just have no interest in modding the car anymore.

You're probably not too far from my apartment. I'm right on Beville just before Clyde Morris. That must be a hell of a drive for you coming from where you're at in Orlando.

Yep, if you can call it work.

Matt, did you come by? I didn't think you would with practice being rained out. All the haulers were heading out Gate 7 when I got to work.

No, as nasty as the weather was I didn't bother going out.

Will you be there Fri for Busch testing?
