I came across a 1995 Z-28 Camaro today. Whenever I see another Camaro, I have to flag the guy down and talk to him about it. Well, I got talking to this guy, and he said he had a LT4 out of a Vette in there. He had Heads, Cam, full exhaust and intake. The thing sounded like a freaking beast. He said he should have about 350RWHP right now, cuz he hasn't gotten it tuned yet. If any of ya'll know me, you know I tried to race him. Here's the crazy part. From a stop, my 3.8 kept up with him till about 85, then he started pulling away (and not very quickly either). From a rolling start (bough 50ish), it was the same way. I'm not saying I beat a LT4, I'm just surprised I kept up with him for as long as I did. After he finished saying everything he's got done to his, he asked me what I had in mine. His reply was, and I quote, "That's Bull****!!!" He was amazed that my little 6er hung with him the way it did. I was too, I actually didn't believe him about his LT4. I took a look in his engine bay, and it didn't look like a LT1 under there, but I'm not sure if it was a LT4. What do you guys think?!? Truth or BS?

Re: Lt4
well, did it have a red intake manifold? the only differences between the lt1 and lt4(the real one not just a H/C/I conversoin kit) is
lt4s are 4 bolt mains
better flowing red intake mani
better flowing heads
larger cam
lt4 roller rockers (cant remember the ratio, but i want to 1.7 or 1.6)
lt4 knock module
thats pretty much it. IMO... the lt4 cam is "ok" but far from being light years ahead of the lt1s stocker, the heads and intake are nice with some good porting. i dont know why people leg hump about the lt4 honestly, its not that special.
as for him pulling slowly, he must suck then, i can pull a bolt on v6 a hell of alot better than that stock, and if he has "somewhere" in the 350rwhp i garuantee he'd pull you pretty quick. back when i had my old 3.4 i raced a lt4 vette, before i hit 30, he had a good 8 cars on me.
current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

And I am modded, but very little. Magnaflow Cat-Back, Moroso LT1 CAI, and Aluminum DS. All on open 3.23's in a 1997 3.8L V6 M5 Camaro.~97 3.8L V6 Camaro~

I think he was definately granny shifting. Or maybe his intercooler was cooling and not intering.
