 Live fire excersises are the ****, that's some of the best parts of basic training. I haven't experienced anything before and since that can compare to 3 m60's firing over your head while your low crawling.

What do you mean by clearing the trench?
Thank god for the Patriot missle! I've never heard of us having to use them but I'm sure we have had to use them alot (not just testing) throughout the years.
The way we would clear the trench was, our weapons squad, 2 M-60s would fire from a hill or something to get the heads down of anyone in front of the other squads clearing the trench.

A trench is like a bunker system, where there are walkways dung out from bunker to bunker. Clearing is where you start at one end, and methodically go through the entire system and toss grenades into the bunkers and make sure there aren't any survivors.

It's not something you would do in Basic or even 11B AIT.

If I wasn't damn near blind I would seriously consider the military. However, having a contact perscription of -10 and -10.5 is not the fun.

I did look into going into the army as a sniper. I didn't like the idea of them getting to do whatever they wanted with me for 4years+ if I failed the training.

Kinda of funny, a blind sniper. I think that's called a machine gunner. Just spray and pray.

Its really odd... I'm damn near blind but I can shoot like you wouldn't believe.

Kentucky windage. I could qualify on the m16 with every target out to 150-200 but 300, yeah right. If I wanted to hit the target at 300 I had to aim about 6-8 feet down and to the left.

Anyone see that Family Guy episode that was on Cartoon Network last night? It's the one wear Brian and Stewie enlist. That has to be one of the best ones. Def the recruitment that they do at the school in the beginning. Funny ****.
