Okay, breaking information as to why the DHP site has been having trouble.
Apparently they've been focusing their resources on a new program. I heard that hey're consulting a couple of japanese doctors and plan to create a flashwave type pop up that gives you epilepsy if you get to close to finding what you're looking for.
Not to worry though, shouldn't see it very often. :bs:

WTF are you babbling about? If this was a joke, I would have laughed you off the stage.

      DHP site

I was babbling about the DHP site.
Didn't I make that the subject of the thread? I honestly don't remember now, cause sometimes I just press every key at once to label my threads.

Wouldn't someone want to be laughed off the stage after telling a joke?

DHP= Digital Horse Power. Tuning for 3.8L V6 engines.
It's even in the forced induction sticky!
Am I still at the Camaro V6 forum?

How much they cost? How much do they add? Looks like a similar product that could be had, I assume, cheaper at pcmforless or texas speed.

                  Re: DHP site

There's supposed to be some 200 variables you can change with dhp.
It's completely open ended. You could tune a new turbo set up perfectly, or tune your stock engine to knock and fall apart.
I dunno how much you could add to the stock f-body with just tuning, but I'm putting together a custom intercooled turbo kit and I'll need dhp to tune it right.
It's not to be confused with speed chips that change things for you.
You have to do the tuning yourself.
I wasn't really bashing them, just ribbin' the site a little.
                  They do make things confusing.

oh yeah, 400 bucks or so.

                      Re: DHP site

I really came close to getting HP tuners, but I just didn't like the idea of having to pay for credits. Trial and error would get expensive after a while.
Or is that how it works?

OH, ok I got it now. I thought it was a mail order tune or a chip type thing. Didn't really read the site too much. That is pretty good then. When my dream becomes a reality I'll keep it in mind.

                          Re: DHP site

no, you cannot buy any Do-It-Yourself Tuner software/hardware package from a mail order place like texas speed or pcmforless.com or hollandMS.
                          HpTuners starts at $499
DHP I heard was $350, but I guess its $400 now?
With a mail-order-tune place, you send in your car's computer (pcm) and they tune it for you (~$150)

As for performance gains from tuning a stock 3.8 engine yourself? I'm guessing 10-20 hp? Depending on the tuners ability.
Nobody goes to a dyno with a stock engine and modified tune (except for Sales-Advertisers trying to sell their tune/product)

                              It's probably 350.
