anal probes, meat cleavers.......this all sounds too advanced and complicated for me to understand.

Emissisons are too much hastle in my opinion.

No, it is not illegal to have tent. I am not sure what kind of tent it has on it, but it is so dark that when the guy at the dealership stuck a white license plate behind the window you could not see it without putting my face right up against the glass. Besides it is really hard to see out of at night. I believe it has some cheap limo tint on it because you can kind of see your reflection in it. The tint on the windshield comes down about half way from the top and blocks my line of vision.

Well I was told buy the dealer that they just had the transmission rebuilt so it should be fine for a while. I am going to be paying $4700 for it. Which considering the condition it is in it is right between the NADA and the Kelly Blue Book value.

I would ask to see the paper work on the transmission if they just rebuilt it.

            yeah pretty much...

I'd say mroe then half the modded cars would not pass a general inspection.... from illegal tint to exhaust....

cops really don't give any hassle on tint, at least in South FL and in orlando.

              v8 or 4.0 I6?

The miles are kind of high for a Jeep. My previous I6 felt tired after about 135K. Don't expect to tow much with the stock suspension.

It's the 4.0L v6. I don't expect to tow anything with it. It doesn't even have a towing package on it. It will jsut be used for daily driving and an every once in a while back road/wood trail exploration. And maybe just a little mud riding.

if emissions gotcha down move on over to detroit, rock city. they dont expect anyone to walk away from the gunfire so you really dont have to worry about emissions killing you.

that motor is an I-6 btw and they're on my list of kicka$$ engines right there with the 3800. as long as the oil was changed they shouldnt have any problems. trans i know nothing about.
I would take a flashlight and look all around that motor for oil leaks and get a good sniff of the exhaust to smell for oil too. maybe ask them to flush the oil for you and check out how chunky the stuff that comes outta the engine is. it'll be dirty cuz its got 135k on it but it should still be reasonable tho. if you've ever seen a coked up turbo bearing, thats exactly what you're looking out for.

                    Re: Buying a new vehicle.

Well I changed my mine when I found this beauty for $3,300. It has high mileage (208,000mi.), but the engine and the exterior are immaculate. The interior needs some work, but I bought it from a tug boat captain who used it to haul boat parts. I will be getting most of the interior replaced. It is a 95 Jeep Cherokee Limited with the 5.2L v8 4x4 with a 3 inch SkyJacker suspension lift, Polished aluminum wheels, Front brush guard, and brand new 31inch tires. It also has a K&N FIPK with a Flowmaster Exhaust.
