JB Weld FTW! I used it for a cracked rod in my saturn! The motor blew after 30 seconds in first gear

The 144k mile engine was toast so I took it apart, cleaned it up and just bought a set of piston rings for it. Noticed the rod was cracked so I JB'd it. 30 seconds down my driveway kckckckckckck knocking then the rod was toast. 100$ 120k salavage motor FTW now in it.

you could've saved yourself alot of time, trouble, and money(piston rings, gaskets, bolts) if you hadnt done that but you already know. Live and learn. Dont worry, I did something critically wrong on my first rebuild.

$100 motor what a sweeet deal, couldnt get any better unless the guy put it in for free

After doing a swap in our F-body, swapping a 4 cyl for a 4 cyl was NOTHING. PLENTY OF ROOM. All the connectors were the same, it was done in 2 days. But a 120k mile motor is nothing to brag about, but it barely leaks, has minimal noise, and was had for 100$.

                    eh
I went out and flashed it (BARELY in time, by the skin of my balls before the battery died!!! EEEEeeeekk!!! )
That was ALMOST a fried PCM!
Cold weather and having the HPT MPVI EIO PRO hooked up for like 4 days killed the battery. :(
Its charging, I will check it in a sec to make sure my pcm isnt fried
and go for a scan/tune/scan/post results

                        Re: 2001 Gen V

you might see a 120k mile motor as OLD and knock, knock, knocking
on heavens door (or the knock sensors door)
but I see it as getting 200K + more miles on it if it was always treated right
When no one else cares... you can brag to me

                          Re: 2001 Gen V

no idea if the motor was beat on or not, seemed pretty clean though. What amazes me is the 330k honda that anytime I drive I redline every gear, pretending I am fast with my 4 cyl. car never fails me :)
