3.4L does not like to be reved out... its been so long I forgot when I shifted mine but it was before the redline...


thing had like a pickup truck motor in it... If I reved it out to the redline it actually would be noticeable slower in the 1/4

The 3.4 flies to 60.

Somebody asked what gears he has? Well if its a T5 then it has 3.23s

Edit: The 3.4 does fall on its face after 70ish, but my old one still 'pulled' pretty strong up to 108 where it gets cut off at

i had to let off at 60 i was in town already i dont need another ticket lol... but mine will pull threw about 80 then it just flatlines.. ----------------------
i know i was shifting a little early i had to many things going on to do it right lol...

This is where a stock one makes power. So yea, I wouldnt shift higher
than say, 4600-4700rpms

Flywheel Horsepower 160@4500 rpm
Flywheel Torque 200@3500 rpm

But if you have mods to make the power band higher, then ya, shift higher

i dont really have that much done. just the fipk, wires, and the exaust.. i wil be doing more soon just have to try and start getting some of my snakes to start breeding first lol..

I guarentee you like 3.23s better then 2.73s ;)

Both of my f-bodies have/had 3.23s. I think its a real good gear, a perfect mix for performance and economy

My 3.4 auto pulls fine to 5500 rpm. It still dies after 70 though.

unless you have done stuff to your enigne to make it breathe better, you shouldnt shift much higher than 5k... its been shown to be slower.. our heads and especially intake, are horrible for flow up in the rpms...
