Elaborate on your Austrailian made comment. The way it reads now is, The Aussie vehicle is better by default by the sheer fact American Quality is junk. I don't think you mean it in that way, but thats what I read, lol.
Don't forget that yea the Monaro concept came out in 99' or whatever year you said but the original 4th gen f-body was being designed about a decade before that. So a 03 GTO that is in essence 4 years old when new is still a lot younger than a 02 f-body that is in essence 11 (or so) years old when new. They're just in different generations.

As far as the austrailian comment... i was merely pointing out that the GTO is one of the best quality vehicles made by GM in a while and it happens to be austrailian. Read what you want in that.

96greenmachine: How can you possibly get your point across when all your posts are garbled crap? I have to say i've skipped reading about 50% of what you've said in this thread simply because your posts were too long, and without punctuation, a chore to read.

Bibby: You can compare 97-02 W-bodies to 97-02 F-bodies all you want :)

It didn't sell because people thought it was ugly. Not because it was a POS.

Its not about people would rather have a GTP over a v6 fbody, but more about giving credit where its due. The GTP's have stout L67 motors and are faster than our v6 fbodies and probably more practical (matter of opinon though), yet you act they they completely worthless cars that are slow.

The issue about the GTO vs TA I think is relative and could be a matter of opinion. I myself would rather have a GTO.

youre by far the idiot of the thread. for the last time THE GTO WAS NOT AXED it is switching the platform on which its being built, hence why its also being restyled to fit the new platform, not to mention its being built here. the gto wasnt supposed to be a huge seller, initially when it came out gm said that it would be a limited run car at first. maybe you should try reading up on it a bit before you come on here sounding like a complete moron.

by far the dumbest thing youve posted yet.

a GP gt will run about the same times as a stock v6 fbody.

youre kidding right? ive been around fbodies since i was knee high. i love them more than you do trust me, but i know that there are better cars.

while we're at it here, why dont you explain why the bird is better than the gto.

I suppose. I was looking at the 98 F-body redesign offering the new Ls1 engine and interior "tweak" from 97. Figuring that was developed in the mid 90's, a Monaro designed in 98 wasn't too far off and definitley not a decade. But I guess looking at it your way, the basic architecture of the 4th Gen "2nd Edition" Fbody, or whatever you would call the 98+ models, was designed early 90's. I can see the 10 year gap.

Either way, you all say compare like years, so go check out a 2002 Monaro (04 Goat), and a 2002 Camaro, and get back to me on that. :p Maybe GM should have kicked it up a notch in 98?

Eh, pointless argument, what are we talking about again? lol
