i was watching the rolex 24 at daytona and they talked to a pontiac rep. and was talking about the new gxp line and they changed the gto for a gxp g6 why u ask? well they are no longer making gto's...firebird still in the air? i think by 2009 we'll here that pontiac is gonna announce a firebird with the camaro:banana:

well i read a article and it seems that its going the same way that article claimed pontiac would go they said gto would go away and then firebird and fiero would return....fiero i dunno but firebird i believe is a good possiblity...i know pontiac's not gonna sit back and watch camaro get all the glory and be w/out a high performance car

Not trying to start a bird or camaro war here, but why do people hope for the firebird to come back so much? Just go out and buy the camaro. The camaros/bird have always been the same thing, just a different appearance. Its not like the two perform any different other than a couple of .XXX in seconds for one another depending on the conditions. I say just be happy at least one is coming back then depending on how it sells bring the bird back a few years later.

Well I like the looks of the Firebird better and I have always liked Pontiac.

I think the Firebird guys generally want a new 'Bird to come out, and the 'Maro people are already happy because they're getting one. If it was a Firebird coming out and not a Camaro, Camaro owners would be wanting a new Camaro to come out too....

not sure what youre reading but the gto IS coming back. also the solstice gxp will be packing a turbo 4 banger. the next gen grand prix is looking promising with a 380ish hp motor and rwd. the gto was discontinued because the are changing the platform on which its being built. it will probably be back the year after the camaro. the bird is all but dead until something OFFICAL comes from gm itself. until then its all a bunch of hearsay and rumors. id love to see it come back as much as any other bird owner but the reality is that its not going to happen anytime soon. pontiac is converting all their cars to rwd very soon, so there are plenty of options as far as rwd performance cars coming from them in the way of gtp/gxp trims.

Me too....plus at least with the people Ive run across around here, the Pontiac owners dont act so damn snobby like the Camaro owners.

They should make a v6 camaro with a turbo as a stock option. Just slap a L32 in that biatch
