Hey everyone. I was just wondering if anyone knows of any car myths that can be suggested for the Mythbusters show on the discovery channel. I already suggested the myth that a bullet can flatten a tire when someone is shooting at them, like we have seen in many movies. Does anyone have any ideas. Post anything that comes to mind. later

Do stickers really add 25 HP to your civic?

what about... will bullets cause a fuel tank to explode? yes, its possible

If some bullets can penetrate armour (not talking about kevlar.. I'm talking about like an engine block) why would they not be able to penetrate rubber?

and yes, every good ricer knows that stickers really do add HP ;)

Right, because a bullet is not on fire.

              Myth busted.
If a myth is busted then its not true... so that doesn't make sense.

They revisted that myth, and actually it did catch on fire eventually. They had to fire tracer rounds from about 50 feet (or yards, i forgot which ) and since the tracer round does have some fire at the end the gas tank did combust.

I guess the reason cops arent allowed to shoot out tires (unless permitted to because its an armed felon or something) is because they miss the tire, and hit the gas tank. The fuel cell might be some sort of plastic (thank god) but bullets hitting the cement underneath the tank or the metal of the car will create sparks (dangerous if the tank is leaking). :stp:
