the reason I say IDK is because service manuals tell you to unplug the batt when working around the air bag sensors.... so... who knows

I haven't seen it, or them, I guess.

And I figured they would eat some shoes, but I want to see if Buster can take it.

Huh..? No! ... wait.. maybe i phrased that wrong. ... No, if its a myth that women are better drivers then it will be busted, cuz obviously 99% of women drivers are rubish (exceptions include Kristen, Shirl, and maybe Danica Patrick)

And for a myth, how bout: Is it possible for a chinese person to drive to work and not cause 15 accidents?

              Re: Car myths

Hey just thought I would post these. They are from discussions on different boards, and thought they might be good for a Mythbuster.

              1. Cell phone unlocks doors... If you lock yourself out of your car, you could call someone, cellphone to cellphone, and have them click another keyfob from your car and it would unlock your doors.

              2. Turning on your lights, before starting you car in the cold, helps 'warm up' your battery and helps start your car better.

                    Re: Car myths

Actually I have heard from a police officer buddy of mine that the shooting the tire out with guns is partially true. I have heard that if a car is moving fast enough that the centrifugal for of the spinning tire will prevent the bullet from puncturing it. I think that would actually be a good myth to test. I would also like to see them test the myth of using a leaf blower as a turbo will actually increase HP.

This one is true, did this up in New Hampshire one winter with my old boat sedan. Car wouldn't crank well enough to start one cold winter morning (~0*F). Put the headlights on for 5 mins, then it cranked better and started. Did this a few times.

I actually saw that cell phone thing work.

When I used to work at Staples I had to carry out furniture for customers to their cars. One time a guy bought a desk and I carried it out there for him but when we got to his car it was locked and he didn't have the keys. So he called his wife who was still inside the store(Well over 150 yards away) and told her to press the unlock button on her set of keys. He held the phone up to the car and the lock popped up.

I think it only works with certain brands or styles of systems cause it didn't work when I tried it on the camaro.

There is no RF style remote that would work like that. But I have seen remotes that work at over 600 feet.
