There is also a video on Youtube, where a Policeman in a Camaro is chasing down a stolen vehicle, he gets to be cruising. But the part that brought a tear to me eye is when he crashes it at the end...

That car is no joke. It's not a just a Narc vehicle, it's one of Northlake's 2 police cars. The other being an Impala. A guy that I went to High School with is one of the 3 police officers in Northlake, TX and he drives that car quite often. I've gotten to ride with him a couple of times in that car. The town is fairly new, maybe 4 or 5 years old, and is located between Justin, TX (my hometown) and Argyle, TX on FM407.

i dont think those pictures show the badass bottle setup. he has 2 bottles in the hatch, mounted alongside the cage. its pretty crazy.

apparently the story is that the dude wrecked his crown vic, and wanted a new car, so he convinced them to buy him that camaro. then, he went to all the different parts companies, and convinced them to sponsor him... so all that stuff was free.

Not gonna see any vehicles like that in Northlake. Most people that live in and around Northlake drive farm trucks, buick century, and Caddies. Alot of elderly people there due to the only housing division in the town is an Adult only retirement community. NPD takes the car to alot of shows and to the local area schools. Northlake only has a 5 mile stretch of highway to patrol and that car eats that 5 miles up really really quick.

Northlake is 45 minutes from the Texas - Oklahoma border just off Interstate 35. Texas Highway Patrol has a 5hit-ton of Z28's that they use to patrol I-35 from Mexico to Oklahoma. Those Z28's are fast as hell too, I don't know off hand what all mods are done to them, but they are definitely not stock. The TDPS (Highway Patrol) also has a station in west Texas (Abilene, I think) that has 3 or 4 Vette's that patrol I-20 between Midland and Fort Worth.

I have 3 uncles that are Texas DPS Officers and one of them patrol's I-35 in the Z28. He's got some pretty cool chase stories. One story he told me, he was chasing down a 300Z that he had clocked at 140+mph and the guy would not stop, so he passed him and hit his brakes to show they guy that he was faster and the guy decided to pull over then. He went to jail, car got impounded, and his citation was something like $1500.
