hey, what do you want for $8 an hour that most of the employees make.. hell, extensive car knowledge is a bad thing cause it means you earn more pay... doesnt mean everyone is like that.. i work with 2 other engineers just making extra cash.. but it does explain the workers who ask "you have a corvette? who makes that??"
but almost any car parts place has one or two good people at it that actually knows something.. figure out who they are and just deal with them... they like dealing with knowledgable customers (that know the model of their car and the engine under the hood) just as much as the customers like dealing with knowledgable parts guys (the ones that wont look up radiator hoses for a super beetle or spark plugs for a deisel)
