Cost me about 65 bucks for my kit plus like 25 for "the complete joy of homebrewing" by Charlie Papazian. Great book, highly recommend. I got with my kit a primary fermenter, glass carboy and air lock, thermometer, hydrometer, sanitizer and brushes, syphon and tubing and some other odds and ends. Bottles didnt come with the kit but i bought a box of 12 1-liter bottles with EZ tops for 20 bucks. a reciepe box with all the stuff to cook cost me 15 bucks so all told i spent...65+25+20+15... 125. But now i'm all set. Each box costs about 15 bucks. Each box makes 5 gallons, which is about the size of two 24 pack cases. you can even cook up ur own recipes even cheaper but i'm not gonna try that just yet...
yeah.. i have the book already.. still gettin thru it.. id like to start off wiht some brown ales.. i was told they arent tooo bad to make.. im not really into the lighter colored stuff.. more into brown ale, porters, stouts... ive had some belgiums that are amazing too..

good deal though man... let us know how it turns out! as soon as i get to brewing my own, ill fill you in.. maybe ill come across a good recipe.. i think theres a home brewers network in my area... maybe ill track it tdown some time and get some more tips..

Right now the airlock in my primary is bubbling like mad. I think i'll take a video of it later 2nite and post it up. i'm so proud of that bucket of beer... everytime i check on it and it gives me a little "bubble bubble" i cant help but say "thats my boy!"

                              Re: Beer!

my primary is almost done bubbling now... i threw it all together on tuesday so that means that probably next friday it should be ready to bottle. after bottling, give it a good 7 more days and that friday i should be ready to come home from work to 5 gallons of delicious homebrew.
i'm already considering going back ot the store and buying another carboy so i can run 2 batches at once. 5 gallons every two weeks will be really nice. i'm definately gonna wanna give some of it away for people to try but i'm just so excited :excited:
